The media could not be loaded. This reducer is very solid and well made of hard plastic. The size is accurately engineered to match the size (diameter) of the output vent on the tool (actual size is just about 3 7/8 inches O.D.). In the accompanying video, I'm using it on a Jet drum sander, and I show how I set it up. From some of the negative reviews I saw, people were complaining that this reducer is too small and doesn't fit over the tool's output port. It's not supposed to. We need a rubber coupler to join the two matching ends together. Then we tighten the silver hose clamps, attach the shop vac hose to the small end (which I didn't show), and it works great! ... show more

LONG STORY SHORT: Simple, good quality, does what it's supposed to do. Good buy. CONS: -Would have liked if they had a combined pack with a Flex Cuff to connect the reducer to the flange, but that's really just a convenience thing. I bought a 4" flex cuff, and everything works great. CONCLUSION: If need to reduce from a 4" hose or flange to a 2.5" standard Shop Vac Hose, this does the trick. ... show more

    • Adapts larger intake to standard shop vac hose.

I got lucky and made good measurements, so the adapter fit the duct of my old disc/belt sander as well as the hose to my shop vac. Maybe a little over priced, but does what I needed it to do. I think there are several sizes of this item so measure what you have before ordering.

    • Mine did not fit my router base at all, and I was stuck with it.

All was as expected until, after following all directions, it would not fit my Bosch RA1161 base. Hoses fit together, and all else is okay, however if it cannot fit the router base, it is of no use. I had to download and 3d print another dust collector. In design, must can be improved. Adapters are a tight fit, as though the idea was put together with pre-existing pieces. I ended up replacing everything but the wye fitting and the hoses in order to get a really good fit. Well, to keep the cost down, I guess it was necessary. ... show more
