  • How to charge a 12-Volt Battery? Connect your 12-volt battery to the battery charger by attaching the BLACK negative cable from your charger to the negative terminal of the 12-volt battery. Make sure to use the clips or clamps to connect to the terminal securely. Generally, the negative terminal is labeled . You also need to connect the positive cable from your charger to the RED positive cable of the battery. Youll find the + mark on the positive terminal.

OK. First of all the instructions are terrible. You would think that someone in the United States would simply write a one page instruction sheet, run it off on a printer and throw it in the box, but no. They have this horrible Chinglish information sheet which you have to decipher. If you are used to a simple, inexpensive battery charger, you can forget about that this one is bulky, and if you use the suggested 6 AWG grounding table (not supplied), IT GETS BULKIER. Using it for battery maintenance when troubleshooting. AC ripple is very low. Would not start a car when connected. Would not disconnect under high load. Connected it to my SUV, turned key to on position, and turned everything else on I could think of- current flow was 50A (my Powermax is rated at 100A). Left it like this for over 30 minutes and the Powermax did really good, very little heat generated. ... show more

    • Great continuous power supply for vehicle programming and battery replacement on newer vehicles
I purchased this because I own (our family owns) several vehicles that will basically puke themselves to death if you just yank the battery out and don't keep a power supply connected. I am the family mechanic and do a lot of car restoration so the price of this was VERY worth the cost. I have been able to replace batteries and do ECU programming on BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover and Chevrolet vehicles using this in the last few months, so well worth the price! ... show more

Having one of these units handy when your programming a new tune or doing diagnostics on your vehicle is a must! Just remember to set the switch to "constant" voltage and connect the unit. The 14.7v default works great, so far I've had zero issues applying a tune when this is connected to the battery. ... show more

I bought this to charge my 150 ah lithium battery for my car audio system. It’s held up well after about 50 charges. The reverse polarity protection saved me a couple weeks ago lol. It was dark and reversed the clamps. The fuses popped but nothing else. I like how thick the cables are too - and the option for an external ground. ... show more

This unit is powerful and works perfectly for flash programming modules on cars. I also use it when doing diagnostic work. The seller was very helpful with questions. The manufacturer website says this has adjustable voltage. I found a youtube video showing you just have to drill the rivets and remove the top half of the housing and there is a pot in there that you can adjust with a screw driver. I have found the pre-set voltage to work fine at about 14.2 volts. ... show more
