The Switch is placed on the negative side of the battery which is non-normal. I was able to remove the terminals from the package and fix this issue. Just be aware that this could cause issues in any design that you might be working with. For this reason, I took away one star from the rating. The product is well built and easy to install. I mounted my battery holder on the surface and desired to place the fuse below the top plate on my project and this too forced me to remove the positive terminal to allow the fuse to be relocated thru a smaller hole in the top plate. Since everything is heat shrink protected and soldered, this forced me to do a bit of creative modification. ... show more

20V DeWalt batteries (or compatible off-brand models) are the only way to go when souping up a Power Wheels Dune Racer. Absolutely recommend. Kids are power sliding all over the neighborhood!

    • If doesn’t work, make sure 30 amp fuse didn’t blow.

I used this for a child’s power wheels. I thought it came with plug in clamps. Instead of stripping wires and taping them. I used a 40V battery, worked for 10 min and stopping working. Come to find out I blew the 30 amp fuse that’s in the black part. Keep 30 green amp fuses on hand… Note to self only use 20V dewalt batteries on this! ... show more

I used this to bring life to a 12volt John Deere power wheel that had sat for years. Spliced existing wire. Connected wires in sockets and electrical tape. My DeWalt 1.2 amp batteries give it about 10-15 minutes of run time.
