It brightened up a dim basement very well. I prefer the side setting adjusters on the light these offer over a remote option. It was easy to install and it is very bright. It's twice as bright compared to my old florescent light that was the same wattage. Initially I was concerned it might shine downward too much, but it spreads the light evenly all around the room. The exterior color temperature switch is very useful.
