  • Surprisingly effective
Style: Battery
I own 23 Dewalt tools that use these batteries, mostly purchased as bare tools, and 6 of these 6 ah batteries. That includes outdoor equipment like a chainsaw and blower, saws and multi-function tools, and a variety of hand tools like sanders, drills, impact drivers, and lights. Obviously I don't use them all at the same time, so in my view buying the tools and batteries separately is the best bang for the buck, especially when paired with rapid chargers. I love the interchangeability of the 20V max system and these higher-end batteries last quite a while. For example, it only took two of them to use their 12" chainsaw to down a 30 foot tall tree, trim the branches, and cut the big stuff up into firewood. I'm amazed and impressed that I got all that done on just two batteries. So far none of them have died, no matter how old they are, but the price has been coming down over the last few years and I pick up a new pair whenever they go on sale so I'll never run out. ... show more

  • Got 2 defective batteries, but Amazon replaced them within a week!
Style: Battery
These 2 Dewalt 6Ah batteries are monsters that deliver LOTS of power to run high-drain tools such as the Dewalt Sawzall reciprocating saw and the Dewalt 4.5-inch circular saw. I was initially disappointed when the first set of batteries came from Amazon because they wouldn't charge properly. I went to Amazon's website and did a return/exchange for the same product. I also arranged a UPS pickup of the defective batteries that came the next day (no charge to me). The UPS guy came to my door the next day with a return sticker for the box and took it away—zip! No cost and no hassle! The replacement Dewalt batteries arrived yesterday. I'm happy to report that both batteries charged up to a full 3 bars without any problems. Amazon took less than a week to replace the defective batteries and didn't charge me a thing. UPS picked up the bad batteries the next day at no charge. Wonderful service! Thanks Amazon. The batteries make my Dewalt tools so powerful that it's a bit scarey to use them. The 6Ah batteries let me use my Dewalt Sawzall to cut down a 5-inch dead tree in the back yard and a 4 1/5 inch live tree. Our yard is looking much neater and tidier thanks to the power of these batteries. UPDATE: I've had these batteries for several months and LOVE THEM! I recently bought a Dewalt 12" chainsaw, and these batteries let me power through large trees and branches like butter. I got a great deal on a pair of 6Ah batteries and always make sur to have them topped up after each use. Having 2 fully charged 6Ah batteries lets me work for a few hours with one, which then goes onto the charger. By the time the second battery is depleted, the first one is ready to use. I can keep going all day. ... show more

  • Like these batteries
Style: Battery
Good run time for what is use them for, which is mainly my drill, impact driver, and circular saw. Charging doesn’t seem to take too long, but I don’t seem to notice because I have four of these and rotate them when the others are charging. I have had this set a of batteries for over a year now and they still take a full charge and perform like new. ... show more

  • Lasts Longer than the Job
Style: Battery
I am a huge Dewalt fan and own most of the XR brushless tools. I've been using the 5 Ah batteries in my string trimmer and blower, and would need at least two batteries to finish the yard...I needed more power. However, the 60V Flexvolt batteries did not get great reviews on shelf-life and performance. When I saw these standard 6 Ah batteries on sale I decided to "bite the bullet" and give them a shot. Whew I am glad I did! These batteries last forever...I can trim all of my walkways, driveway, curb, and back fence...and still have enough juice to use the blower to clean off the driveway/walkways. A few notes on the quality: Some of the Dewalt batteries I have are made in China, some in Korea; but these are made in Japan...who also makes the internal 18650 cells as well. The quality of the plastic casing is excellent (no tooling marks or excessive flash) and the color of the cell is much closer to the actual tools. Finally: Keep in mind these batteries are BIG. If you just need a battery for a drill, or impact driver...a 4 or 5 Ah battery will do just fine, as the 6 Ah can make the tool somewhat heavy and cumbersome. For longer and more demanding jobs such as yard-work or sawing lumber, these large 6 Ah batteries are great and will save you some time and keep you going longer. ... show more

Battery life is surprisingly short, 30 to 45 minutes and needs to be charged again.

  • Worth The Money.
Style: Battery
I purchased some cheaper batteries thinking I was getting a deal. I have to admit name brand is the way to go.
