I lucked out on being able to use the 39 3/8" table top I bought on sale from IKEA. I wanted a generic white surface for a video podcast host to use, and wanted to start with a small one to see if that'd be enough since there won't be monitors or anything substantial put on it, it's mostly for looks and a place to hold notes or her phone if she wants. The reason I lucked out is the documentation says the minimum tabletop length is 42". By having the legs at their smallest extension, I was able to use the too small tabletop and have the legs basically flush on either side. If the tabletop was a 1/2" shorter I wouldn't have been able to use it. The height range of this unit is amazing. I'm 6'2" and I gave up on raising it when it got too high for me to be able to use. It can be lowered enough so a small child could use it comfortably. The motors lift it extremely smoothly and at a controllable speed to get to a preferred height. One (that should have been obvious to me) note about using the included cable management ties: The power cord needs to be loose enough or have enough slack it'll allow for the full height range without pulling itself out of the power brick. I made that mistake once and pulled enough slack it won't be a problem now. Also with the power, I hadn't noticed the instructions telling me to attach the power brick holder before attaching the table top. Since I hadn't, I simply bent the thin metal of the bracket to slide it between the unit and the table then bent it back into shape to keep the brick suspended under the table. The instructions weren't the greatest, but looking at the pictures they provided gave me enough detail to figure it out pretty easily - except my mistake with the power brick holder. The hardest part was figuring out how to put the legs together. Once I did that I just left it partially assembled until I bought a table top a few weeks later. ... show more

I bought this for my new home office and I absolutely love it! My old desk was terrible and didn't have nearly enough room for all of my stuff. This one was very easy to put together and looks amazing!

    • Extremely Quiet, Anti Collision is SUPER sensitive!

Let me start off by Saying once this is put together, its plug and play, its super easy to use and VERY quiet. The height adjustment is smooth and seamless and will work for people of any height. Okay The Pros: Even without properly labeled parts, it was easy to put together ( I say Labeled because the instructions use wordings such as Bracket "A" etc., but nothing is marked on the bag they are in or are the part themselves). The Desk lifts pretty fast, no clunking or whining just a smooth transition. You can set memory for either different family members, or for different heights for your work day. It has a built in timer that you can set and use to remind you that "its time to stand" or " its time to sit" which I really like! Its versatile in what desktop you can place on it, we used a Butcher Block Live edge top and it looks beautiful! ( I don't have a picture yet, because I wont the area to be clean and organized before) Its not wiggly or wobbly, once its set up and leveled with the bottom legs (it has wide circular pads (2 on each leg) that you can spin to individually level) Its Super Solid and Sturdy! Includes black woodscrews to attach whatever top you are going to put in (if its wood of course) I thought that was a nice touch! Cons: I have no idea how much weight this can hold, there is nothing in the description or in the manual that came with it. but based on how well built and heavy duty it feels, it should be fine. The instructions act as if the parts are labeled by calling a particular part A, or B but are not ( neither on the bag or the item itself), So you will need to try to match up the small pictures of the parts, and use a bit of deducing to ensure they are the part(s) your looking for. Not very intuitive on how to change settings (except from inches to centimeters) I can not figure out how to change the collision detection, because if you touch it while its moving, it will error out and the manual states the error is collision detection, and you will have to reset the desk. ( had to do this several times during setup). Final Thoughts: If you have a particular use case for this beyond being a "normal home office desk" I would have a hard time recommending, because it does not list how much weight this can handle, and in most DIY cases for these types of desk lifts, it may have considerable weight that it will need to handle. I DO recommend this for anyone looking for a nice workstation at home to help keep you moving throughout the day. and if you are early worker this desk is one of the quietest I've ever used, This is based on my use of these types of desks in the office at work. I mean I had to place my ear near the motor to hear it, again so smooth! ... show more

This is such a solid unit and well worth the cost. Assembly was pretty intuitive, which is good because the instructions, though clear and easy to read, seem to expect labels on the different parts that weren't there. But it wasn't hard to figure out and get it together. We put a large slab (48" x 25") of solid polished oak onto this and was a bit worried at first if it would support it and allow the motor to still work. We're talking around a 350lb slab - we had reason to worry. But the motor took it like a champ! Moved smooth and quiet like we just laid a piece of paper across it. VERY impressed. The buttons are clear and obvious what they do. I was able to store 3 different heights through the buttons (one sitting, one standing for me, one standing for my wife) that all work easily. Cord management is pretty good too using the included ties, but do make sure to leave a loop long enough to go up and down! You don't want your cord getting caught as that tends to make it unhappy and beep errors about a collision detection. (Ask me how I know.) Overall, if you're looking for a sit/stand frame for a desk of YOUR choice, you've found a great solution. Don't let the cost fool you - this is an amazing value as full desks (that just add a $100 top) cost 2-3 times as much. This is worth every penny. ... show more
