First one received had a problem charging. Seller promptly replaced it and the replacement charges just fine. My 2 cats are attracted to the silvervine/catnip packet in it. They like to sniff it and one likes to rub against it. They seem surprised when it starts flopping. It is on the same frequency as my tv remote, so it turns on every time I adjust the tv volume, but there is another button on the tv remote that shuts the fish off and doesn't interfere with what I'm watching or doing with the tv. Haven't had to use the supplied remote for the fish. One cat will wrestle with the fish when it starts flopping, the other either sits and watches it or walks away. I'm happy I got it replaced, it's worthwhile (my living room is a cat playground with many types of cat toys and my non-toy-interested dog doesn't seem to mind). It gets a moderate amount of cat time and attention and honestly runs more from my frequently adjusting the tv volume. This is the 2nd motion activated cat toy we've recently purchased. Wanted one that didn't chirp. The cat wasn't sure about it at first. The fish flops around, but not for very long. By the time it has her attention, it stops. However, the remote is fantastic. Can use it to set if off when she walks by. Have had it a few days now, and today she attacked it, rolled around with it (maybe cuz of the catnip) and was setting it off herself. She fell asleep with her paw around it. After seeing these fish toys on TikToks being used by parents to pat their babies to sleep, I was intrigued and decided to give it a try. This fish is undeniably cute as a toy, and the remote feature is a great touch (at the time of purchase this was the only fish toy with a remote, which made it stand out). However, I wish it had a continuous patting option without requiring constant motion or a remote. While it didn't work as a sleep aid for us, it's still a fun toy to play with. This is the third floppy fish I've purchased for my two kitties. Last year I bought two of the trout. This time a clownfish, because it has been updated to include a remote. I think I wanted the remote as much for me as for the cats because it is fun to trigger it suddenly when they are near. I think that what they actually like best is the aroma of the catnip inside it and the shape, which is perfect for wrapping all four paws around and laying on the floor giving it kicks while biting it. They play rough with the fish, but it, and the two from last year show no signs of tears or snags. The clownfish arrived with a partial charge and my young male cat was "helping" me open the box and get the fish activated. He was so excited it was funny to watch. My 15 years "old lady kitty" likes to come and rub her face on the fish, but she also plays with it some, which is amazing, because she doesn't play much with any of the other toys we have. So, I highly recommend the fish, and other toys from Potaroma (I also bought the 3-in-one activity toy). They all come very well packaged and in good condition and if you have any questions about the toys, the vendor responds within 24 hours to questions in a very friendly and helpful manner. ... show more

It has a long battery life, and the red light to let you know it's charging helped to know we got the plug right (although the red light does attract them to the power cords). Bought this for my senior cat, she needed some exercise and thought this would help. She plays with it some but the flopping scares her. She used to live in a feral colony where she encountered a lot worse than a flopping fish - go figure. But it is a cute toy.
