I didn’t know a cat’s response to catnip is determined by genetics. Our cat does not respond at all to catnip. But I ordered another cat toy from this company that had a packet of silvervine in it and she responded! She is very inquisitive and has allergies, so we need things to distract her. The balls and fish worked! She loves the scent and it is engaging. I put away the balls or fish and bring them out only when she is licking-biting-scratching incessantly (we’ve seen many vets and specialists, tried meds, immunotherapy, diet trials, etc and nothing has worked). My cat is finicky and at first she put up her nose up walked away when I gave them to her. Pretty soon she came back and laid on top of it then played with it. She plays and chews on it every day now. She bats it around hard and it stays together...very sturdily made. Wil buy again

Wanted to buy my cats a toy that would “enrich” them while my boyfriend and I went on vacation. Upon opening, my cats went wild! Even my cat of the pair that is easily bored of toys! Only downside… my cat that I swear is part dog found a way to retrieve the bag of catnip while we weren’t home from the ball. But I do suggest buying these! ... show more

    • Cats love the toy but pieces break off-- put it in a sock
Both my cats liked these herbal play toys right away. No problem there. However after a day or so I was finding little bits of the woody outer structure on my carpets. I don't mind that, as I'm not the world's greatest housekeeper, but this morning I found the ball (I've only given them one so far) on the living room floor with a little heap of kibble-throw-up next to it. Again, no problem to pick it up. But it occurs to me that they might be swallowing little splinters of the wood. That would NOT be good. So I put the play ball in a sock. A knee-high nylon would have been good, but alas, those have long disappeared from my wardrobe. They can still smell the contents, plus the sock makes it possible for them to grab the toy with their claws and throw it (which they do with their fluffy-ball toy). I thought this would be something that my cat would be excited to have because she likes chewing on the toys like sticks and stuff like that that we get her but I bought these for something different she took no interest in it at all she smelled around it better around a couple times and that's about it so I won't say I don't recommend it it's just wasn't for my cat she just very picky and finicky and it just wasn't for her but I'd still recommend it try it out on your cat first before making decisions offer a review cuz all cats have their own personality and tatious I need humans do. ... show more

My cats loved them, mainly the one with the little noisy ball inside, but they got bored after a couple of days. Also, the material that these are made from leave a little mess when they’re played with, nothing too bad and irritating, just something to pay attention to.
