To the creator of this toy... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE design a SAFER VERSION!!!! UPDATE: It has been not quite a month now and I just found the battery section pulled from the toy so I decided to update my review. It was only a day or two and my cat had chewed the top open, and she was able to chew it open daily but I just kept closing it. I was always concerned that she would chew off and swallow the lid but since these were her favorite toys I did not take them away from her. However, today I found the entire battery pack pulled out of one! I will sew this into the toy so she can't pull it out and just deal with it when the battery runs out since THESE ARE SERIOUSLY MY CATS FAVORITE TOYS!!!! I have to hide all 3 toys at night so they don't play with them and make noise keeping me up! My cat immediately took to these new toys. However, I did fill them with the powdered catnip prior to tossing them to her and it took her about 3 minutes to chew enough on the "cap" to dump the catnip out. Her teeth worked better than the tool made to open it! I wasn't so worried about the catnip being dumped, however she kept chewing on the opened cap so I was EXTREMELY concerned about a choking hazard if she were to chew it off and possibly swallow it. The "fix" to this is just NOT to put the catnip in the toy! It's not needed, she loves the toy without the catnip too! Instead, save the catnip for rubbing on a scratching post or to enhance plush toys that have no possible removable parts. It is really fun to watch my cat play with these and carry them in her mouth like she's caught some prey. She is an indoor only cat so having a toy that satisfies her instincts is AWESOME! ... show more

My finicky kittens play with a toy for about 15 minutes and then it ends up in the toy basket. These are consistent winners - they will bat them around, pick them up and carry them around- they really seem to like both the texture and the peeps. Really fun!

This is a great product! Mind you I have to watch it when the poodle gets a hold of these delightful little fuzzies because like all dogs he wants to chew it lol. They both love the toys! The sound and the light that is projected is not the least bit irritating. Make sure the little door where the batteries are is kept closed after adding the cat nip or changing the batteries. Bought these for a new rescue cat we brought home. He liked them quite a bit and would chase them and chew on them. Then my dogs discovered them. They would not leave them alone and kept taking them away from him. Eventually they chewed the battery packs out of the balls so had to throw them away before they swallowed a battery. I think if you have just a cat and no dogs that they are a good toy. The noise for each one sounds easily when rolled which keeps their interest ... show more
