    • Well Constructed, Supportive, Difficult to Reach Adjustments

The design of the Rakiiee Posture Corrector band is clever in that the shoulder adjustments cris-cross along the back and are adjusted by pulling lower straps forward and sticking them to the torso band via Velcro. Other models I have used, utilized a vertical pull along the shoulders which I found didn't offer nearly enough range of motion to get the bands tight enough which was not the case with this. I was able to make it tight enough to feel support without feeling like I was overextending the bands. My one complaint with this design is that the straps start at the center of the back and are meant to be pulled forward. In order to accomplish this, one must reach behind their back and pull, but for some people such as myself with severe shoulder injuries, that type of motion isn't easy. As such, I would have preferred these adjustment straps to be significantly longer and start at the front of the body rather than the back. This model was the first such strap I have used that also included the band that wraps around the torso. I found in use that this did help keep the bulk of the apparatus from shifting out of position as occurs with my other models that simply wrap around the shoulders. With those other models, I find that the body of the band slides up or down the back changing the posture and limiting the effective range of the shoulder adjustments. I like that this model has rigid supports along side the spine along the back, and at least in my case, as a tall man, found that the length of those supports were more than sufficient to add support without feeling too high or too low along the spine. This strap is bulkier than a lot of other supports to the point where I would not expect one would want to try to conceal it under clothing. This isn't an every day wear appliance, but when one is not attempting to conceal it, it's an excellent strap for posture support and correction (at least when compared to all of the other ones I have used in the past; I am no physical therapist). The build quality is nice, the spines are rigid enough, but still have a slight bend to them. The material is well stitched. The materials seem to be a mixture of soft neoprene and other breathable materials. The elastic straps are strong, yet flexible and all of the Velcro attachments have excellent grip. Overall, I am pleased with this posture corrector. I found that it lives up to its claims, is supportive and actually fits well (I ordered a Medium - Upper Waist: 35.4"-41.3") and I am a thin, 6'5" Man. Had the adjustment straps been placed in an easier to access location, this may have been a 5/5 product. ... show more

Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product The Rakiie posture corrector feels like a more refined, polished version of similar competitor models, addressing key refinements that make a noticeable difference. I’ve had bad posture since I was a kid—probably due to lazy slouching rather than genetics. This isn’t the first posture corrector I’ve tried. In fact, I previously tried a competitor model with an almost identical design but found it lacking in a few subtle but important ways that Rakiie improves upon. It’s hard to pinpoint all the differences, but overall, the Rakiie just provides a snugger, more comfortable fit with better support. The biggest improvement for me is the extra front support strap that connects the upper shoulder straps across the chest. I don’t know if this is essential for everyone, but for my body type, it makes a huge difference. It keeps the shoulder straps in place and prevents them from digging into my armpits. Think of it like wearing a high-quality hiking backpack versus a simple book bag. The chest strap on a professional backpack helps distribute pressure more evenly, and that’s the kind of improvement this front strap provides. Another noticeable upgrade is the slightly longer back support section. With the competitor model, even though I ordered the correct size, the back support felt too short for my torso, making the entire brace less effective. The Rakiie, by comparison, feels slightly longer, which makes a huge difference in it's effectiveness. ** Update: Actually, upon closer inspection, I realized that it's not that the back support is longer. Rather, the length is somewhat adjustable because the shoulder straps can be moved via velcro. ...yet another advantage of this product over competitor models. That said, because I have a heavy upper body, I still wish this offered even more support. But even as-is, it’s significantly better than other models I’ve tested. Final thoughts: This posture corrector does work in that it definitely encourages a straighter posture. For someone with a more average build, it would probably provide even greater support when fully tightened. For me, it offers medium support, but that’s still a big improvement over going without it. ... show more
