  • Great little amp. Could use some extra features.
Color: Pearl
I bought this amp a few weeks ago and wanted to use it and all of its features before review: POSITIVE: 1. Easy to use both with and without the app. I can't express how important this is. 2. Great Sound. 3. Portable 4. App works great and connects easily 5. The Jam Along features are awesome 6. Looks great and seems sturdy (despite the mini toggle switch). NEGATIVE: 1. Very first thing you touch is an undersized toggle switch. Not a fan. 2. I would pay an additional $50 to have a balanced line out. The only way to play louder is with a mic. 3. No effects loop. 4. Uses a laptop charger which does not store on or in the amp. This would be a convenience. 5. The tuner seems like an afterthought and really isn't that functional. I would definitely buy this again and would recommend it to anyone who needs a practice amp that sounds great. I keep the big guns in my studio and the Spark has found a nice spot in my bedroom. I chose the Pearl White, and it looks classy on my nightstand. I traveled with it to Orlando and it worked flawlessly. ... show more

  • Very versatile for an average guitarist like me
Color: Black
I've had the product for a few days and have played around with it. The features I like are - it's a smaller amp that fits nicely on my desktop. I like the phone app and it's worked without a hitch so far although getting the backing tracks to play through BlueTooth to the amp was a bit of a trick. Lots of amp sound DLs available. Smart Jam is a plethora of track resources that will satisfy any appetite for various guitar styles. My "gig" is the blues and there's ample resources there. I haven't played around much with Quick Jam but one negative is that you only get 8 bars to record your riff. Again, I'm a blues player and a 12-bar recording option isn't available from what I've been able to tell. The native amp modes without the app are very playable and lots of fun! Enjoy! ... show more

  • Great Sound and Easy to Use
Color: Black
I'm a bassist that's been playing, well, let's just say a long time. I keep most of my amps at my band's studio and especially with the pandemic, I've wanted a small amp that doesn't shake pictures off the wall. There were several bass amps I had considered, but this one is also for guitar, which I also play. I took advantage of the recent sale. The first instrument I plugged into the Spark Amp was my new Rickenbacker 4003S/5. I figured if this amp was good with a 5 string, it should be good with just about any instrument. Until I played with app, my initial thought was, "UGH, terrible". I guess the default app setting was not at all bass guitar friendly. Once I picked a bass amp, I was pleasantly surprised by the tone. Not cheap or wimpy sounding at all, even with the low B string. It gets reasonably loud too. It's not gy to shake walls or rattle windows, You could play bass at a low volume coffee shop gig or an acoustic jam with this amp. It also works great as a bluetooth music player with full, rich tones and a nice bass presence, so you can learn songs, play along with or just listen to music. It comes with Pre Sonus Studio One recording software and a USB cable to connect the Spark amp to your computer to record.. The app is easy to use and there are many presets to select on the cloud. You can also make and share your own. The only con I can think of so far, is that there is no internal battery for extra portability. I think you can probably power the amp with a portable rechargeable battery, it you find one that supplies19 volts at 2.5 amps, but be very careful about that. Beginners as well as seasoned musicians can equally enjoy the use of this amp. ... show more

  • Great little amp for practice and coffee house volume gigs.
Color: Black
I use it for Pedal Steel, and it works great as a practice amp and for when I don't want to drag a full rig out to a jam. No, it won't be replacing my Fender and Port City tube amps anytime soon, but it's a pretty handy little amp that's loud enough for jams without a drummer. I'm not a huge fan of the app, but I can see that some folks would love it. ... show more

  • I have to put my 2 cents in here.
Color: Pearl
I've been wanting one of these for a long time. I mean the cool features are almost too many to mention. The problem I am having is that the bass levels are so overwhelming it makes the mids and highs get washed out. It's like you are playing with your guitars tone control on 5 and there is no escape. I watched the You Tube videos of Darryl Braun, and 60 Cycle Hum, and they both overwhelmingly pointed out that the bass is so heavy that even when you cut it to the bottom, and the treble all the way up it still isn't enough. In plain words the EQ balance is way off. Net results, a boxy, muffled kind of sound. It's incredible that they could get so much bass out of a couple of small stereo speakers, and my hat is off to them for that, but what about shimmering highs, and deep, clear mids? I'm sure Positive Grid has got to be working on that. If they solve that problem, I will be the first in line. Meanwhile, I will stick to my Fender Blues Deluxe Tweed tube amp, and my Fishman Loudbox Mini for acoustic guitar, and my Fender BX100 amp for bass. Albeit, that is a lot more money than the Spark amp, but... Unfortunately, none of those things does what the Spark amp does in terms of features. They just produce a superior sound. ... show more

  • This thing is on another Level>>>>
Color: Black
I have a large Roland Amp for Keyboard, It's a bit oldered but very solid... I bought this for a lap steel... I got to say... the Rich Sound you get From this, not to mention the app that is packed with effects... It's very hard to believe the sound you get from this is rival to the older Roland... but it does do it... the sound is deep and true... a 150lbs of amp has a rock solid sound,.. but this little portable kicks butt... and takes no time to take names... Try one and you will hear... Hearing one is believing... Ethan E. Highsmith ... show more
