I was in the market for a new amp to practice with because my current setup was cumbersome and dated. I am a beginner to intermediate guitar player for reference. The first thing I noticed was the striking look of this amplifier. I love the white color, gold trim accents, as well as the deep red of the handle's underside. It looks great and the Mrs. approves when I have this sitting on the desk or table. During my first setup I knew this would be a much more enjoyable experience than my previous, dated amp and my Zoom digital effects pedal. The 8 built-in guitar tones are great and I found myself chugging in Drop-D for an hour before I even connected the phone app. Holy cow does this little amp pack a punch! I don't know how loud this gets because I'm sure my neighbors would complain if I went past half volume on it. I use YouTube all the time for guitar tutorials as well as backing tracks. I appreciate being able to play the lessons through the speakers and hearing my guitar at the same time. Yeah, you can also use this as a bluetooth speaker and it sounds great. If you want there is an option for a battery. There is a door on the bottom of the amp for the proprietary battery (sold separately). You can take this thing tailgating with music or play some sick riffs anywhere you want. The accompanying app will allow you to configure new guitar tones and set them as one of the 8 guitar tones. There is also a built-in looper that I know was missing on the 1st version of the spark. It works like it should. Finally, there is the option for expansion with the built-in outputs on the back. When I become a rock star, I will be able to tap into the venue's sound system or a larger amp and still use the Spark 2 as my guitar effects pedal. Overall, I have really enjoyed this amp and I have practiced more in the past week than I have in years due the ease of set-up and bluetooth connectivity. This thing is great. Tons of stuff to choose from when making tones in the app. If you have a amp you like don't buy the little powered cabinet. I go straight from the spark 2 output into my half stack. It works perfectly in the clean channel, its not necessary to use the dirty channel. I get all my tones in spark out of my stack. I also bluetooth the app to some Bluetooth speakers and play the backing tracks. It makes practice way more fun and productive. I practice for hours at a time now and am improving as a player. I'm most intrigued with the generative AI function which is sort of hit or miss......this will need lot's more AI learning in order to function as advertised. I got this amp to replace my Spark Mini, because i need something a bit louder and the new features, like the looper and the option to have 8 presets active instead of 4. Also it's nice to have all the different knobs for the amp physically unlike the Spark mini where you have to go into the app each time to adjust the reverb, treble, gain etc. I really like it but one thing to note when buying this amp is that the amp doesn't come with good presets ready to go, you HAVE to use the app and switch them out as the ones the amp comes with are terrible. I don't know who idea's it was to ship it with those presets but it wasn't sensible. So don't really expect to get the Amp and be able to start playing with good tone presets out of the box without using the app first. There are thousands of tones to choose from. You have some official ones from positive grid and many user created tones, as well as ones you can make with the spark AI. Also if you want it to be portable you have to buy the battery separately and put it in the Amp. ... show more
