I was skeptical of these lamps, $50 for a set! Just briefly skimming through the other options that Amazon offers at this moment, similar lamps in size and style are ranging from $60-$120 (yikes)! I really loved the simple lines and texture I could see in this lamp's pictures, and figured, why not try? I'm so so glad I did. These lamps arrived packaged in such a small box, at first, I thought I had been duped. It turns out the lamp shades are self-assemble and can package compactly when completely disassembled. I was a bit annoyed with the lack of instructions, but after I got my kids down for a nap and could focus, it was pretty easy to figure out. The lamp shades are wrapped around the exterior of the package, so be VERY careful when unboxing so you don't cut them. The bodies of the lamp were packed in Styrofoam molds and the remaining hardware was packed outside the Styrofoam but under the lamp shade exterior. The method of assembly I found easiest was to attach the top hoop for the shade (it has 3 spokes and a hole in the middle for a screw fasten) to the vertical support, hook the shade to this, hold the shade upside down between my legs, then attach the bottom hoop to the hooks. There is Velcro to close the shade cover snuggly. After figuring that out, the hardest part was finding out light bulbs and voila! Elegant lighting! They actually look so lovely that I decided to put them in my instead of our bedroom so we could enjoy them more. The product specifications are accurate, including the cord length. I love the linen texture of the lamp shade. The body of the lamp itself almost has a volcanic rock texture which is very subtle from further away, but you can see up-close and feel. This may be a problem in the future, as these nooks and crannies will collect dust and pet hair easily, but I think I may just need to vacuum it instead of dusting with a rag for best cleaning results. My main critique of this lamp set is I cannot figure out how to get the light bulb socket to fit snuggly with the bolt on top of the lamp. I had my handy husband look at it and the best he could come up with was to shove it on a little harder (The stalk of the socket isn't shaped to fit the bolt, it is just a cylinder of roughly equal size). This causes the lampshade to wobble in a disconcerting way every time I try to turn it on. Personally, I don't want anything electric wobbling.... I may be able to make it stick a little better with some putty or cling film around the bolt, I'll have to play with it. On the whole, they are still an absolute bargain! They are also unique, I have never seen a design similar before, and it feels so rich and organic in my space! If you are on a budget and trying to add some elegant lighting to your space, these are a great option I would absolutely recommend! ... show more

I'm absolutely thrilled with these lamps. They are gorgeous! The design is very modern, and they have a definite high-quality look and feel that far exceeds their price point. We went back and forth on where to put them - our living room or bedroom. They honestly would have worked well in either space, but we ultimately decided on the living room. The lampshade is a bit wider than I initially realized, and when we tried one on our nightstand, it took up a significant portion of the space and didn't quite look right. However, on our larger end tables in the living room, they're absolutely perfect! Assembly was a breeze - putting each one together took a few minutes. I was particularly impressed with the lampshades. They arrived perfectly smooth, with no wrinkles or crimps at all. The velcro attachment for the shades is also surprisingly strong and holds them securely in place. One thing to note is that the lampshade is more tan than white. Depending on the type of lightbulb you use, this tan hue can be emphasized (though not in an unpleasant way—it gives a warm, inviting glow). The base is black, but it's not stark, harsh black. It's more of a soft, sophisticated black that complements the overall design nicely. ... show more

    • Elegant Looking Lamps
These lamps are very elegant looking without being too formal. I wanted a new look and this gives me that, Instead of putting on my night stands or end tables, I chose to put these in two different rooms on occasional tables. They look nice in both. I don't love having to put the shades together, but it was very easy to do. You just pop the wire into the slot on the shade and attach the velcro. The base isn't too stark in color but the design on it gives the lamp such a pretty look that you notice. It was just the right touch for both my living room and hearth room. We recently added these table lamps to our guest bedroom, and they have been a perfect addition! The lamps complement the rest of the room beautifully with their stylish mix of vintage, rustic, and modern elements. They have a nice, clean look that fits perfectly with the decor. These lamps are awesome. The packaging was amazing and assembly was easy. They are a nice height and beautiful, i got lots of compliments on them. The only observation I have is the base is ceramic but not glossy or smooth at all- it's actually really rough and I cut my hand on it. So be careful how you handle it. These ceramic lamps were easy to assemble, are well made, look great, and are working well. The lamps are 27.5-inches tall and sit nicely on my living room side tables, but would look nice in a bedroom, family room, or office. I especially like the affordable price of this lamp set, so I was able to update my living room without spending a huge amount. I also like the fact that the seller provides 2 years of sales service.
