I was hesitant to buy an electric wheelchair without first trying it out, but this was an excellent buy! I couldn't be happier with it. I am a very large person. This chair fits me well, is easy to maneuver, and has incredible battery longevity. My husband is thrilled with how easy it folds up and how easily he can put it in the car. There are some good grip points. He only has to lift either the front or back wheels into the back of the car, and it slides in. Its relatively light weight at 50 pounds, but is sturdy and handles my weight easily. The batteries last a long time. I do not use this chair 24/7, but rather just for when I would need to walk any distance. I have COPD, so walking and breathing became quite difficult. We purchased two carabiners to hang from the back railing of the chair to clip my portable oxygen unit on it. I also bungee corded a sham pillow for extra back support. All in all, this was an excellent buy and I would purchase it again. ... show more

Bought this for my brother, but I tested it first around town for many miles. Does excellent job in handicap friendly municipalities; common sense will keep you out of trouble. Very easy to operate in tight spaces. Fast enough and still be safe; it is faster than most people can walk. It exudes quality workmanship. Nice looking piece of machinery. Easy to master those slanted sidewalks with the proportional joystick control that is state of art. Took it up and over a DOT grade draw bridge with no problem, and when going down the grade the wheelchair did not speed up, instead kept a constant speed; it actually appeared that the electromagnetic brakes may have charged the battery on the downgrade because the charge level indicator went up one bar. I went about 11-12 miles so far on fully charged battery; it still shows two bars of charge left. I'm totally satisfied at this time. The batteries are positioned most ingeniously; they fit inside frame members and they can be removed easily. I'm 6'1" and weight 230 lb and it is very comfortable for me, I've spent hours and miles at a time testing it. The seat cushion area measures about 17-18" wide, and that is plenty wide enough for me. 3/23/19 Update: My brother immensely enjoys the freedom this wheelchair gives him. He puts his portable oxygen generator in the storage basket under the seat and goes out for hours at a time. He now does his own shopping and errands in the local community. This is an empowering device for people with mobility issues; I suppose we will all get to that point sooner or later. ... show more

    • Amazing! (With a couple of caveats)

So far, I love this thing! It has changed my life for the better. The batteries last forever, although the battery indicator is a bit misleading... As long as it shows green (and this is a long time), you are good, but it drops pretty quickly once the green bars are gone (which is only 1/3 of the total bars.) It goes everywhere.... Living in Vermont, there are a lot of dirt roads, many of which are quite steep, and it tackles them easily, although coming down a steep grade on dirt, it can slip a bit, but with practice, this gets easier. It folds very easily, the batteries are easy to remove and install, it charges pretty quickly... One downside is that, even without the batteries, it is kind of heavy for my wife to lift into the car, and it is awkward because it doesn't lock in the folded position, which is unfortunate. These things are all minor compared to the freedom it has granted me, however. I will update this if there are any issues with the durability, but so far, I love it! EDIT: two years and 4 months in, and I still love this thing, with a couple of caveats. One, it is horrible in tight spaces. The response time between when you tap the joystick and when it powers up the motors is long enough that you just end up bouncing off walls. This is usually fine with me, since I mostly use it outdoors and my wife usually just pushes me indoors, but it wouldn't work, for me, as a primary chair. This, combined with Number two, it's trickier than you'd think getting used to rear wheel drive, led me to give it 4 stars, instead of my original 5.
