Not as big as the picture makes it appear. Once filled it is the size of the classic little red wagon. You need something like a wagon to create a frame to support it as it is thick enough to not burst easy, but not thick enough to offer support. Moving it once full is impossible. My wife uses this to store rain water. The hole for filling is really not designed for pouring into. Wish it had an option for having a larger opening for this option. Water is a big deal here on the farm. I have more hoses than I can count, and lots of barrels and tanks to hold, transport, and store essential water. What this collapsible storage bladder brings to the table is compact storage, and a low center of gravity. An empty collapsible storage bladder is not only easy to store, it is easy to handle as it weighs almost nothing compared to a rigid storage vessel. Water barrels, tanks, and other rigid containers take up their rated volume whether or not they are full. All winter long, when they are empty, they still take up just as much space as when they are 100% full of water. A collapsible storage bladder changes all of that. I was concerned that a collapsible water bladder would be like a giant water balloon, but this has not been the case at all. The bladder is much tougher than I expected, and I can use in the back of my UTV to haul water to areas too far away to reach with a hose to provide water to plants or animals much more easily. I can also use a collapsible storage bladder as a portable reservoir in conjunction with a solar powered drip irrigation system for plants which need attention even when I need to be gone for an extended period. Even when I am home, I find having a reservoir which I need to fill only every week or two is way less time consuming than having to water things daily. A collapsible storage bladder is much less expensive than a comparable capacity rigid storage vessel. When transporting water previously, I used a tractor with forks mounted on the loader and a barrel on a pallet. This required mounting the forks if not already mounted, and the tall barrel had a high center of gravity so had to be strapped on or risk disaster. With a collapsible storage bladder, I can toss it into a truck or UTV and no straps are required. I can instantly tell how much water remains in the bladder, even from a distance, whereas a full or empty barrel looks exactly the same until you peer inside. I believe that the advantages of a collapsible storage bladder- easier storage, reduced weight, reduced cost, easier transportability, lower center of gravity, and the ability to clearly see how much water remains- far outweigh the negatives. It is a good idea but the weak point is the straps which is the only way to transport it. I purchased this to fill water bowls around the homestead..the first time I used it all the straps broke.

This 30 gallon bladder is a nice quality. It does hold shape well when it's full. I ordered this for keeping water in my chicken pen that would autofill their little water bowls. 30 gallons does not last as long as I thought it would (14 chickens) but it's not bad and it means that they continually get fresh water. I have been filling it about every other or third day. Keeps their water bowls cleaner. I attached this to a bucket via a short hose extension and the little auto-waterers are attached to that. Works like a charm. I wish it had a way to hang so I think we are going to rig up a contraption for that so that the gravity feed is even. Right now I have it in my large wagon and that works, but it would be better if it were suspended a little higher, I'd like to hang it on the fence. ... show more
