I purchased this equipment with high hopes, but I’m incredibly disappointed. After only 3 months of light use, it completely stopped working. I expected a product that would last much longer, especially considering the price. It’s frustrating and a huge waste of money. I’ve reached out for support, but so far, no resolution.     • Nice quality charger with 40A capability, 25ft cable, great travel bag, high value, Tesla NACS end.
This 40A EV Charger by EVDANCE, is well-made, high performing charger, with all the capabilities and accessories you should need. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – The charger looks and feels like a very well-made charger, with thick cables and a strong build. I was really surprised at how nice of quality this one is for a portable charger. I’ve seen a ton of EV chargers and this one caught my attention as far as build quality in a portable charger. It also comes with a very nice travel bags compared to others I’ve seen included with an EV charger. I’d put the overall quality in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for travel ready EV chargers and guess that it should hold up well over time. II. Performance – It’s worked great in many ways, with power up to 40A that is adjustable to what you need. The Tesla NACS charging end is easy to use and effectively transfers power. It also includes the communication button to open the charging door and turn it off. It has a useful screen for helpful information, such as timer, current, voltage, power used and temperature, that many don’t have. It has 10 safety features, to help keep you safe. The 25-foot cable is on the longer side of the cables available and great to have if you can’t park next to the charger. It’s important to note that this unit is just as capable as a strictly home unit, without the need for travel. It has the wall mounts and holster to offer everything a dedicated home unit would, it just also has the capability to come with you if needed. Overall, this is a fantastic option that offers a high charging ability, with notable quality, convenience, all the basic features needed and you take easily take it with you if needed. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. The EVDance 40 Amp Tesla Level 2 Charger is starting off being an amazing charger because of the size, the material finishes are excellent and the cord length is great and it is a mobile charger that can do 40-amps and not get too hot to the touch doing it. The cord is 0.63 inches in diameter. The Tesla handle is decent and grippy with a good switch! It has a very nice readout on the back of the charger unit that tells you what the indicator status lights mean. It has substantial heft to it at 10.25 pounds. I started using this as a replacement for the EVDance 40-amp Level 2 charger with the J1772 handle which started not working correctly after using it for weeks in the Texas summer where my garage was 100 degree Fahrenheit or higher. I was using this to charge up my 2024 Kia Niro EV and it was beating the timeframes the Kia was initially putting out of how long it would take to charge. So, it may say 5 hours, then it would go down to 4 hours and 30 minutes time to actually complete the charge. It is nice that this device includes a digital readout that tells you information from this unit such as time on charge, voltage, and temperature. Sure, the vehicle could tell you some of this information, but the temperature is an essential piece of data which it can’t tell you. This device is plug and play. I have this connected through an extension cable that is coming off of a 50-amp breaker. I love how the data table also breaks down what the different colors mean. The data table on the back breaks down information quite a bit more than competitors. It shows an operating temperature of 122 degrees Fahrenheit. This EVDance Tesla 40 Amp Level 2 Charger looks exactly like the EVDance 40 Amp Level 2 Charger and it’s starting off working exceptionally well charging the 2024 Kia Niro EV. I switched to a 2021 Tesla Model Y and it seems like it’s performing even better hitting the max rate of 40 amps and 37 miles for the entire charge time. I have seen the temperatures on the charger go as high as 141 degrees Fahrenheit. So, I am hoping that it doesn’t give out the exact same way the EVDance J1772 40 amp charger did because the operating range is supposed to be 122 degrees Fahrenheit. The EVDance J1772 is currently throttling charging to as low as 29 amps to keep from going above 122 degrees Fahrenheit. So, I think something needs to be improved in the materials to allow for higher temperatures, or to keep the device cooler because this Seguma 40-amp charger is also running higher than the operating temperature. There is a very nice cord holder that this EVDance charger came with! There is a basic nylon case which could be thicker and have padding as well as it could be larger to be able to easily put the charger and cabling into the case. The handles are large and have padding but due to the heft of the this charger it could be better materials! ... show more

This charger just works well and is simple and easy to use. I think the best part about it is that it has a great 25 foot length, which is super handy and makes it extremely versatile. It doesn't have all the fancy network features, but is an awesome backup and portable charger that will get you up and charging quickly without any setup and at a solid 40a rate, along with a nice long length. The screen is intuitive and easy to navigate but it is really just a plug and go type charger that is super functional, charges at a solid rate, doesn't overheat and I love that it has the button press to lock and unlock the charge door, something I miss on my j1772 home charger that we use on my wife's vehicle more than my Tesla. This plug is solidly constructed, works well, is simple to use, and has a really great 25ft length to the cord. Couldn't ask for much more at this price point so I'm very satisfied and would absolutely recommend it. ... show more
