There is virtually no difference between the pink and purple shades, so either I received a faulty remote, or else the bright pink colour shown on the product page is the result of a filter. I'm disappointed because I had intended to leave it set to that colour, but it's otherwise a very cute lamp and makes a decent replacement for the actual tree branch I had been using until one of my cats developed a taste for fairy lights. ... show more

This is nice for changing the colors to match the season/holiday theme of the day.     • UPDATED - The Remote Doesn't Work, so, no dimming, and no easy changing of colors and modes. :/

Updated Review: The seller contacted me; they were apologetic and offered a (generous) refund. Additionally, they assured me that they'd take greater care to make sure products work in the future. Therefore, when I am set to get another set of lights, I will be giving them another chance. I'm very pleased that they showed a strong desire to put things right, to improve their service, and to please customers. I'll plan to revisit this review after the next order with them. :) Original Review: Alas, the remote didn't work (neither with fresh batteries inserted and (not surprisingly) without batteries :P) so I'm unable to easily switch the settings and colors. Even worse as the best spot for this one is an area where it becomes (even more) difficult to press the button on the wall plug. I didn't want to deal with the Amazon return process so will just keep it, as is, and whine about it when friends come over. :P On the bright side (lame pun: intended), it is pretty; although on the dimmer side of things (ahem...yup) I cannot dim the light (which is very bright) since the aforementioned remote issue.
