they did have a weird smell which they warn you about and tell you how to get rid of it. i didn't really care because it didn't stink up my room. how they were wrapped made them easy to take apart and display around my room. they're really cute, it makes my room seem less empty. it came with just a the right amount too. some of the leaves were casually falling though, but it's fine. ... show more

I bought four packages of these vines and lights because I had an idea how to use them in my bedroom. The picture of the bed is the end result. So many people have said that the vines have a horrible smell, therefore I opened them outside to make sure to air them out. Honestly, the smell was not terrible, it smelled like plastic, as one would expect. Three of the four packages had vines that looked great. The plastic was cut well and the leaves were symmetrical. The fourth package had all 12 vines as the second picture I provided. There was extra plastic on the vines and the leaves were not uniform. Thankfully I only really needed three packages. Iā€™m not using the twinkle lights because thatā€™s not the esthetic I am going for, however one string of lights is not enough for 12 strands of Ivy, in my opinion. Something that I did notice as I was unpacking the vines, they shed A LOT. I had to vacuum a couple times to get the tiny green strings off my floor and off my bed. Itā€™s from the leaves, since theyā€™re a plastic cut fabric, they fray a bit. And I understand that, however I felt like adding that so that others can be aware of that situation. To secure the vines, I ended up folding them in half and using a thumb tack. It was simple and because of my canopy bed, aesthetically pleasing since you cannot see the tacks. Full disclosure - I returned this item because it did not work for what I wanted to use it for. However, I would not hesitate to purchase again. Yes, there is a warning straight out of the package about the ivy scent, which certainly doesn't bode well. However, I opened the package and set the ivy outside to air for a few days and the scent went away. The ivy shed green strings when you moved it around too much, but this would be fine for a stationary decoration. The lights are great with multiple choices for twinkling. ... show more

Hello! So these vines are really cute. Some things wrong with these vines are: 1.Smell Bad when you first open the bag they smell pretty bad, itā€™s a smell i canā€™t really explain, itā€™s just bad. But if you let them air out before you put them up they should be good (i saw a review where he/she soaked them in soapy water, i would do that) 2. The lights the lights are kind of aggravating to put up since itā€™s basically just one big string so i couldnā€™t find a way to put them with the vines that looked neat/clean without them on. 3. Cheap feeling when i was putting them up they had a cheap feeling on top of smelling bad but they donā€™t look to cheap when they are up! 4. Tangled when putting them up they wouldnā€™t look neat like in the pictures they show because the leaves, the leaves were falling off when i were putting them up. Things to know before you buy them!!: ~make sure the seller is good, if your wondering how to find out their should be a blue button that says the sellers name near the sold button itā€™s really easy! you just click one button. ~Air them out before you put them up!!! ~donā€™t get aggravated while putting them up, at the end itā€™s worth it. -the lights donā€™t HAVE to go with the vines, they look cute when they are somewhere else in your room/house. These are so lovely. Protip though, don't leave dead batteries in. Dead batteries will leak and ruin the lights. This is my second time buying these so I know not to make that mistake again

I brought this product to decorate my daughters room. When the package initially came the lights were damaged and the vine was missing a few leaves. I emailed the company at the email provided in the directions and they sent out a brand new package immediately free of charge with no questions asked. They responded to my email the same day. I was greatly pleased with the replacement order as all the lights and leaves were exactly what I wanted and they worked. The vine of leaves does have an unpleasant smell when you first unpackage it but it disappears after a few hours after being exposed to the air.
