they did have a weird smell which they warn you about and tell you how to get rid of it. i didn't really care because it didn't stink up my room. how they were wrapped made them easy to take apart and display around my room. they're really cute, it makes my room seem less empty. it came with just a the right amount too. some of the leaves were casually falling though, but it's fine. ... show more

I bought four packages of these vines and lights because I had an idea how to use them in my bedroom. The picture of the bed is the end result. So many people have said that the vines have a horrible smell, therefore I opened them outside to make sure to air them out. Honestly, the smell was not terrible, it smelled like plastic, as one would expect. Three of the four packages had vines that looked great. The plastic was cut well and the leaves were symmetrical. The fourth package had all 12 vines as the second picture I provided. There was extra plastic on the vines and the leaves were not uniform. Thankfully I only really needed three packages. I’m not using the twinkle lights because that’s not the esthetic I am going for, however one string of lights is not enough for 12 strands of Ivy, in my opinion. Something that I did notice as I was unpacking the vines, they shed A LOT. I had to vacuum a couple times to get the tiny green strings off my floor and off my bed. It’s from the leaves, since they’re a plastic cut fabric, they fray a bit. And I understand that, however I felt like adding that so that others can be aware of that situation. To secure the vines, I ended up folding them in half and using a thumb tack. It was simple and because of my canopy bed, aesthetically pleasing since you cannot see the tacks. These ivy strands were exactly as described, and spread out really well! I put them around my daughter's bunk bed, and a few on the wall underneath, and they look great. They do have a pretty strong smell when they first come out of the package, but I had already seen reviews about that so it was expected. super duper cute addition to my room but there wasn’t enough vines to cover my whole wall and they stunk really bad.. it doesn't stink up the room though, only of your super close you can smell it. there was just one big strip of lights like the ones you put on Christmas trees but was barely enough to cover all the vines so i spread the lights out. i like the different settings and the lighting is super cute on it, yes i hung mine up with tape.. if you plan to do so as well, be careful because the batteries are heavy and will weigh the tape down ... show more

I brought this product to decorate my daughters room. When the package initially came the lights were damaged and the vine was missing a few leaves. I emailed the company at the email provided in the directions and they sent out a brand new package immediately free of charge with no questions asked. They responded to my email the same day. I was greatly pleased with the replacement order as all the lights and leaves were exactly what I wanted and they worked. The vine of leaves does have an unpleasant smell when you first unpackage it but it disappears after a few hours after being exposed to the air. This is definitely the best option compared to other fake vines/ivy packs. Usually, other artificial garlands come with a very strong odor, but this one didn't have that nauseating scent.
