I never write reviews. But this is definitely worth the time making a review. I bought the red poolrx because my pool is smaller. I’m a first time pool owner and I was having such a hard time keeping my pool clear. I wasting money on chemicals to keep chlorine level, ph…etc etc all balanced. This red and white is the latest size addition to the PoolRx line up. I like that when using this you can run chlorine at .5% ppm to 1% ppm if the water is clear and just need to bump the chlorine up to around 2% for a few days if the water gets cloudy. Overall PoolRx has been decreasing the demand for other chemical needs. ... show more

    • Used in a cheap above ground pool.
In less than 2 days to got that green algae off the sidewalls . Chlorine level Is low but still the pool is super clear. Highly recommend! Deserves more than 5 stars!

    • Seems to be working
This seems to be working fine in our pool, this one is a little under powered as we have a larger pool then it is rated for. This is rated for up to 5k gallons and our pool is around 8.6k. I purposely got the smaller size as our pool has been really good this year and I just wanted a little extra assistance for the chemical balance. When I read the direction and the warning about the potential of high Ph I was surprised to see my Ph drop about .5 after putting this in the pool. We are still will within safe range, it was near the top when I put this in. That tells me it is doing something to help keep the pool balanced. We really haven't seen any big changes in our water tests since putting in the PoolRx, everything is nice and stable. Our water was already crystal clear so adding this wasn't going to make it any clearer. This year we started keeping our pool covered unless we are in it. Our cover doesn't allow the rain water to mix with the pool water which has really helped keep the algae under control. We have traditionally seen a small algae trend around mid August every year and I am hoping the PoolRx and cover will help prevent that this year. Overall, it appears to be working at advertised so I can't complain. I would say for the ease of pool maintenance and comfort of having a clean and clear pool this is a good value. ... show more

This works quickly, and is so much easier to use than having to figure out measurements of chemicals or paying someone to come fix the pool or hot tub. Just pop it in, leave it for a day or two, and your water will be clean in no time!

    • Gets the job done and is easy to use
We have a really big inground pool but we also set up a much smaller 3 foot above ground pool for the last few years for the younger kids since our big pool is almost 10 feet deep all around. And this seams to be working great for the small above ground one. To be honest I’m not sure how many gallons the above one is, but if I had to guess about 3,000 gallons, so at the lower end of the rating for this. And it has drastically cut down on the amount of other chemicals and shock I have needed to use. ... show more

A) Came neatly and safely packaged. B) added to hot tub and I did notice it clearing up the water . C) After a couple days, I realized that my hot tub is not nearly 2500 gallons so removed it. D) I don't recommend that you do this, but I will likely pop it in for a few hours as needed for cloudiness since it seems to work. ... show more
