  • Awesome product!
Size: 7.5k-20k Pattern Name: gallons
Living in Florida, the summertime is such a headache when it comes to algae. No matter what I do, I’ll always find it somewhere in the pool. So I thought I’d take a chance and try this out. I was a little skeptical when I woke up the next morning and noticed my pool was just a tad bit cloudy but I thought I’d give it a chance and see what happens. It stayed that way for almost 48 hours. I don’t know if This was the case because it was breaking down algae or just mixing with the other chemicals, but now the water is clearer than I have ever seen it. Any of the spots that I might see a little bit of green were completely clear. I have an older pool that needs to be Resurfaced so algae can be a huge problem for me and has been. This seems to be a solution until I can take on this very costly project. Needless to say very pleased, I have recommended it to everyone. I know that has a pool even those who don’t have problems. I think if you have a pool. This is a must have for Summer heat. ... show more

  • Great product, saves time and money
Size: 7.5k-20k Pattern Name: gallons
My pool guy had recommended this stuff to me and offered me a discount on weekly service if I let him use it in my pool. He charged me $90 a year for the PoolRx (which he didn't name, he just called it a "mineral treatment" and I later found out what it was) and discounted my service $10 per month, so it was a net savings for me, it made his job easier, and now I see it probably saved him money on chlorine, too. I later took over the pool maintenance on my own to save money and looked for advice online. I found a very knowledgeable community on a certain website that was full of great advice and pool care tips, but some of the more vocal, condescending members of the forum were very against using any type of mineral additives like Pool Rx and would ridicule anyone that said they were going to. It seemed that more than anything they were stuck in their ways, but they had some credibility and made some plausible arguments against it, so I followed the advice and was using only liquid chlorine to sanitize and keep algae at bay. I was having to shock my pool a lot more than I had liked and the algae still appeared in some areas even though I was keeping my pool at 5 ppm chlorine most of the time. That's higher than I wanted to keep levels at but algae would get bad if I didn't (and yes, stabilizer and Ph were ON POINT). I was going through a lot of chlorine. After about a year of this, I said the heck with it and bought the Pool Rx. Huge difference, right away. I bought the 7.5-20K gallon size for my 22K gallon pool because that was what my pool guy had used. It has worked great and I have had no algae and no problems with chlorine levels kept at 1-1.5 ppm through the hottest 4 months of a Phoenix summer. Chlorine has even dropped to 0.5 ppm a couple of times when I had to go longer than normal between servicing it, but I still had no problems. I have not experienced any of the negatives that the "experts" had warned about. No increased scaling or staining, no green hair, no problems with the pump or equipment. Just clear water, a pool that is easier to maintain, and a pretty good savings on chlorine. I added this canister in May and I plan to add the booster in October, then I'm starting over with another canister next May. ... show more

  • Coincidence…I’m not sure
Size: 7.5k-20k Pattern Name: gallons
My pool has an algae problem. Every other month I’m treating it to remove the yellow algae. But since using this product I have had no algae. My pool looks amazing. It is worth every penny I paid.

  • Would not have believed how well it works
Size: 7.5k-20k Pattern Name: gallons
I almost never write reviews, especially unprompted reviews, but this item is working great so far. I put it in the filter basket a week ago or so, and in one day there was a huge difference, and in two days, the pool looks as good as it ever has. In my case, before using this product, the pool water looked ok, but the walls of the pool had a substantial amount of algae growing. Chemically, my pool water was not bad, and in past years I have had to nearly empty the pool and blast the walls with a chorine water mix. This would usually last for most of a season. This time, I tried this Pool Rx and, so far, the pool looks really good, without having to replace all that water. We'll see if it lasts the 6 months it claims to. ... show more

  • Works well in South Carolina pool
Size: 7.5k-20k Pattern Name: gallons
Had significant issues with algae despite algicides and multiple chlorine shocks. This product actually works. Put in pump basket and in 24 hours had a clear pool. In another 24 hours pool was crystal clear and clearer than I had ever seen it. So will be using one of these yearly from now on.

  • Great Product for preventing Algae in your pool
Size: 7.5k-20k Pattern Name: gallons
This is the second Pool RX that I have bought. I don't fully understand how the chemical composition works, but we had NO ALGAE or signs of ALGAE in our pool last summer. We have a 10K gallon built-in pool and this product worked great!! It's simple to use, just remove the filter pump plastic cover and drop the Pool RX into a clean filter basket and run the filter normally. That's it. Prior to using this product we had periodic episodes of algae, but not last year. It is a little pricey, at $59- but the product claims that you can use less chlorine. And if you have a backyard pool, you know chlorine prices have gone through the roof the past 2 years. I totally like this product and I'm betting you will too. ... show more

  • Magic!
Size: 7.5k-20k Pattern Name: gallons
This product cleared up my pool so quickly! It has lasted one summer and has already cleared up my pool from the winter! Considering what this thing does, it’s a great value! It has a clean appearance and is barely noticeable in the basket. Will buy again!
