Man, I don’t know where this thing has been all of my life. We have dealt with yellow algae for the better part of two years. We tried different things that were just temporary fixes. Then, I found this online. It is nothing short of amazing. I just dropped it in the basket and it went to work. I wish I had before and after pics!! Within 3 days the algae was gone. Over a month later and it has not returned. I spoke to my pool guy today and he said my pool has been great. I was asking about this product and he said, “Man, I don’t know what it is about it, but I know a lot of people that use it and it works.” He said it works about 90% of the time. The only issue I found is that when I added it my CYA went up to about 100. I really do think it was because of this. However, my pools guy said everything was good and my CYA is now 70. It’s still high, but he said all other levels look great. I haven’t had to really do anything to my pool. I forget to clean it because it looks so freakn good. I am talking clear water! If you want something that works, please do not hesitate to get this. I really wish I had known about it a long time ago!! Would have saved me time and money. It’s stupid how simple it is to use. I read some of the reviews but I had doubts about it. We live in south Ga and the temps have been really high giving us a lot of problems with cloudy water. Pool stores are there to sell you all kinds of chemicals that didn’t solve the problem. I bought this and in 2 hours our pool was clear. Our pool is about 25,000 gallons so we bought the bigger one. Works like a charm. I put it in the pump basket Thank you! I just want to add an update. We put this in our pump basket on the 4th of July and it is now the 15th and our pool has been crystal clear and the only thing I have to do now is add a couple of 3” chlorine tabs every week and our temps have been a 100 plus! Now all we do is enjoy our pool no more worries. Update November 10th our pool has been sparkling clean since July! Now that temps are cooler I only need one 3” tab. Use to have to add a tab a week now the tab last about 2 weeks. I vacuum 1 time a week and that’s it, I haven’t had to buy any chemicals or shock since we put this in our pump basket. I rarely leave reviews, but this product actually works and greatly reduces the need to add other chemicals throughout the pool season. For the type of water, weather, foliage, etc we have in the Northeast, this definitely stopped algae from showing up, which had been a major problem. My main motivation for writing this review is so that other people buy this so that the company doesn't go out of business or stop making this and that they don't have to increase the price.     • Works great, but new packaging makes me nervous.

I’ve been using a PoolRX for the last few years, and they definitely help keep the water clear and reduce the amount of wall scrubbing. However, the newest packaging (cardboard box with a ziplock inside) have been delivered with moisture and leaks - there’s some liquid inside the bag, and residue inside the box from where the liquid leaked. I’m not sure if this is normal, as all of the units I’ve purchased prior have come completely dry and in a clamshell package. ... show more

Of course when you try something new and innovative, it's natural to be skeptical...we were. We've now been using this since April, 2024 and have had ZERO (0) visible algae in our pool. We typically saw minor blooms on at least a bi-weekly basis which would require 1-2 days of shock to clear. We also used a clarifying algaecide weekly, but we haven't needed a DROP of solution this season. What an amazing value...it has probably already paid for itself in chemical savings, but the true value is the time I have NOT spent dealing with algae blooms remediation and mitigation. ... show more

July in Missouri is a FIGHT to keep algae away. We’d shock, vacuum, balance and even put on our winter cover when not using the pool just to keep the chlorine from burning off and getting algae blooms. Monday and Tuesday Missouri got what was left of hurricane Beryl with tons of rain and us with green pool! Chlorine was a 4.0 and ph 7.6 and we still had a bad algae bloom. This little device popped up on my Amazon recommendations and in desperation, I bought it. It arrived 4 hours later and my husband installed it our filter that evening. By next morning our pool was completely blue and clear! Chlorine is at 1.5 and ph is 7.5 right now. The lowest all summer. The picture attached is almost a week later after our bloom. No algae, no brushing, no shock. Even if this thing only lasts us the next two months of swim season, it’s worth it! ... show more

I don't know what's in this thing but I've had it in my pool for about a week or so now and my pool is absolutely clear. I haven't even added any chemicals or anything. I have a salt pool. It had some algae building up a few weeks ago so a friend of mine told me to get this and I did within a day or two. The algae was gone and my pool is absolutely clear.
