  • It comes out of tune easily
Color: 01#Pink
For the price it was about what I expected. The uke is for a five year old so my expectations for long term use are pretty low.

  • Kind of a mixed bag
Color: 01#Pink
This ukelele came with some black smudges on it, but the sellers were QUICK and RESPONSIVE to send another - and then another. The third one had a tiny smudge - this looks like from the black paint on the neck - but only I can notice it because of my checking the first two. It is super cute and my granddaughter was thrilled with it. I purchased a nice case (the one that comes is just plastic like a thick garbage bag), and a tuner. I also purchased a different ukelele for my grandson, which was twice the price of this one, but it had all this in it, plus a few more accessories. So basically they came out the same price. But THAT ukelele was tuned quickly and easily, whereas this one has not been tuned yet after many tries. I know that all ukeleles take time to keep their tune, because of the strings stretching, but my understanding is that when new, they may need to be tuned various times during a session, and later every time you pick up the instrument. But this pink one can be tuned on ONE string, but after you tune the second string, the first one is already out of tune. So we've never been able to tune all four strings. Now bear in mind that none of us play ukeleles, and we've learned to tune from a friend who is not here to try to tune it herself, and from the tuning instructions with the tuner, as well as from youtube videos. So perhaps we're not good tuners! The price is excellent, but I didn't buy it as a toy. Unfortunately, right now it is. At any rate, this is an absolutely cute ukelele because it is pink, it looks well made in spite of the tuning issue, and is sold by a seller who stands behind their product! I have not tried to return it because even as a toy I think it's worth it. ... show more

  • Well made
Color: Brown
We previously purchased a different ukulele that fell apart after just a few uses. This one is sturdy, the strings are nice and thick, and it sounds great. My 4 year old tries to copy his older brother who plays the guitar and this is perfect for him.

  • Not quite a toy, but not a great ukulele either
Color: Light Blue
While this ukulele is not quite a toy (you can tune it, and it will hit the right notes) it doesn't have the same rich sound that our slightly more expensive ukulele has. You can definitely learn to play on this, but if you are going to the effort to learn to play, you might as well spend an extra $20 on one that sounds more beautiful while you are learning. This one is fine, just not great-sounding. I had bought a Kmise Soprano Ukulele for my 7-year-old to learn to play on (it was on sale at the time for $42, and came with strap, tuner, and decent little backpack bag). My 4-year-old then wanted one too, and the Kmise was no longer on sale, so I bought this one for him (this one was on sale for $30 at the time). This one, of course, comes with no extras, except a flimsy bag that doesn't have backpack straps; basically a zippered dust-cover. That was fine and expected, but the sound difference between the two is huge. The Kmise is just so much more rich, resonant, and beautiful. This one will be fine for my 4-year-old to mess around with, but if I had it to do over again, I would have either waited for the Kmise to go on sale again, or just spent the extra few bucks on it, even not on sale. Even though my 4-year-old is just a little kid playing around, I do think quality sound is valuable. ... show more

  • Surprised
Color: 03#Blue
Given the colors and the price I expected it to be more of a toy. It’s a nice instrument

  • Good for the price
Color: Light Blue
The media could not be loaded. Great for the price and a beginner/child. It’s what you’d expect at the price point in some areas and nicer in others. No sharp frets, smooth tuning, plastic, not the best strings, pretty color, small soprano size. I do get quite a bit of buzz/ring on the A string, especially on the first fret. Still creates a nice sound to learn on and decide if you want to upgrade. Gig bag is nothing special; no protection, pockets, or shoulder strap, but you get a gig bag. No tuner included. For all the bad reviews speaking to the tuning.. you always have to tune a new instrument. It took a bit of work to get it to stay in tune, but with stretching the strings I got it holding a tune the first day. I always re-tune every couple uses and strings are either still in tune or just slightly off. I will be purchasing a better quality string though. If your looking to learn/see if a child will learn, I definitely recommend for a starter at the $26 I payed. ... show more

  • Great fun
Color: 03#Blue
I love this little ukelele and am having a lot of fun with learning to play. It was easy to tune, well packed for shipping, and beautiful. My only complaint is that the ad spends a lot of time talking about Hawaii, then the Uke comes with a made in china sticker.

  • Sturdy and pretty little ukulele
Color: Light Blue
Bought this for my musically inclined 1 and half year old. I was a bit worried that, it being a real ukulele n not a toy, it might be too delicate for our toddler. It's only been a few days but right out of the box, I could tell it was very sturdy. It's not the most sophisticated or polished looking ukulele. It's obviously for beginners, but it is well made. The paint finish is quite glossy and very smooth. All the little details are clean and well made. I especially love how the edges of the frets are filed down making them smooth n safe for little fingers. And so far it is holding up to my child's "playing," which involves plucking the strings aggressively, tapping it on the floor, and putting her foot on it (I'm teaching her not to do these things however for obvious reasons!) . And she loves it! She has been super possessive of it from the moment I handed it to her. And regarding the tuning, I have some experience already with nylon string guitars, so I knew that the strings take some time to stretch. So it's normal for it to take some before the strings stay in tune. Which has been the case with the ukulele. But even then, my old classical guitar would eventually get out of tune, much more quickly then a steel string guitar, so I expect this ukulele will behave similarly. ... show more
