I contacted customer service because of the below: The watch turned off itself during the first 24 hours. I started using the watch on Sunday night at 8 p.m. 5/22. on Monday, 5/23, during the first exercise, the watch turned off its own. This happened at 7am after the workout had already lasted 105 minutes. The button lock was on. Battery level was 95%. Same happened on Friday morning 5/27 after the workout had already lasted 90 minutes. The button lock was on. Battery level was 28%. This is my fifth polar watch. My previous watch was M430. Hopefully the M430 wasn’t my last Polar watch..... This is a bad thing. A product in this price point (Polar's flagship product), 7 months from the date of publication, must not contain software errors of this level. I received instructions from Polar customer service to do a factory reset. Which I did. Another feedback to customer service: Thanks for instructions. - 6/1 I reset the device and I have used the watch since then as before. - 6/12 I downloaded the new software 2.0.9 - 6/14 The device switched itself off after 1h 30 minutes of training. Did not start by itself but required the power button to be pressed. Do you think this is a normal feature of this product? ... show more

Was looking forward to this watch but the screen is so dim and is hard to see at times. Returned it and got a Suunto baro 9 and none of the problems. But the polar was a good watch with the exception of the screen being kinda laggy and dim. Polar App was amazing I just couldn’t justify paying $459 for a watch with that dim and laggy of a screen. ... show more

    • Dim screen ruins what could be a wonderful watch.

Just incredible that a $500 watch can be essentially unusable in most outdoor situations especially if you actually need to read the seconds. The screen is so dim that even with the brightness setting at it's highest you'll still be squinting to see the screen outside and the seconds are so small that they are all but invisible in direct light. Also the backlight light only stays on for about 7 seconds so you're constantly having to shake you're wrist or hit the backlight button. I just returned a Garmin Instinct that was almost 1/3 of the cost and had a 100x better display. What a shame, it's a beautiful watch and I'm sure it's accurate but I'll never know because I returned it the same day I received it. ... show more
