The lamp is a good size for a desk, console, and table type of environment. It's not stately enough to go beside a sofa, but it looks fine elsewhere. They would look nicer with textured shades. I bought these specifically to get one three-way lamp for my desk, and at this price, the fact that it comes as a pair of lamps is nice. Unfortunately, the touch switches do not work with light timers (smart outlets), as the light will not come back on until someone touches the button. Every time you turn it on, you have to touch it to cycle to the light setting you want. The touch switch is far worse than a mechanical twist knob in the modern era, where most lamps are on smart outlets. When I tried to convert it, I could not find a stand-alone rotary knob that would work with it, and I could not convert the top bulb socket with a new three-way mechanical one because the whole plastic base is glued to the shaft, and I destroyed it in trying to free it. Basically, this is a low-quality lamp, but it will work if you don't mind having to touch it every time you want it turned on. ... show more

I purchased these lamps for my living room. I was very please at how really nice they look. Not cheap looking at all, with the price I really expected a cheaper look. So far they work great! The usb outlets come in very handy right next to my chair for charging. Absolutely love these lamps!

The lights are very nice. However, there were no directions as to how to assemble them. There were simple directions to assembling the shade. Two lights came but only one bulb. The bulb is much too dim. I am using a regular bulb in the other one and it flickers just about all the time.
