This 5 in 1 or rather 5 in 2, gadget does what few others will do. It will allow you to charge your MacBook where every other brand of hub I looked at that offered a similar set up for a 5 in 2 to a 14 in 2 that utilize the left hand ports won't allow you to charge your MacBook while your using them! I mean... hello, McFly, anyone home? Then there are those 8 in 1 to 14 in 1 hubs that rely on a wire leading to any one of your usb-c ports on your Mac. The trouble with that style, for anyone who travels a lot and relies upon that hub, that wire connecting the usb-c port to the hub goes bad fairly quickly. Enter pluggable, and the game changes. The model I received is a 5 in 2. Not a 5 in 1 as described. not even as labeled on its box. But fret not. That's not a knock against this tiny shining beast. Even though it takes up both usb-c ports on the left side of your MacBook it still has a headphone jack in it and more. That and this things is built very, very well. Overall this plugable device offers too much as a bonus to really count anything against it. It's made of quality materials, looks good when attached to my MacBook and rests evenly both with the top and bottom to the keyboard side of the laptop, meaning the display closes with no fear of damaging it, and it rests level on your desk. It doesn't wobble or give either. Once you have it connected it's as if the thing were part of the pre-manufactured whole. It is easy to forget you even have this device plugged into the MacBook and data transfer rates are amazing. Attaches securely to the side of my laptop without a cord. Does not dangle down when I relocate to a new work area. I really like the pass through for the power cord.. Other products may have more ports but this nicely full fills my needs. I would recommend it.

First let's talk about the device itself. It is super high quality, mostly made of metal. It is a clever design and does not require any cables to connect it to the MacBook Pro 14/16 M1/2 models. I like this as it's one less item I need to keep track of when traveling. I like that it plugs in to 2 USB-C ports which gives it a bit more stability when using it. The notch cutout is ingenious as it allows for the MagSafe connector to be used simultaneously with the hub. Which makes a lot of sense because when I travel, I generally charge with the MagSafe cable and not a USB-C cable like I do when it's on my desk at work connected to my external LG 5K Display. As far as transfer speeds and stability of device connections, it performed very well and as expected. I had no problems at all. The only issue I have with the hub is that it does not work with a case on my MacBook. It's not a fault, and I wish I had realized that prior to ordering the hub, but I did not. I wish it was designed so that it would work with a case, but then it would probably not function well if you use your MacBook without a case. So, just keep this in mind. I am not the type to try and modify either my case or the hub to make it work, nor would I remove the case each time I want to use the device. So, it's super handy, small, easy to travel with and does the job well, but, if you have a case on your MacBook, you'll have to make some concessions. ... show more

I like that I can plug this into the MacBook Pro and it has an indentation so that the computer charger can be plugged in at the same time. This is helpful for my older USB connections, so each doesn't need a separate converter plug.

    • Cool Hub for newer macbooks
This hub works well and theres not much more to it. The fit is good and the quality is decent made mostly of metal. The usb c port is just a passthrough so PD and thunderbolt accessories still work.
