Dental plaque disclosing tablets are designed to help children (and let's be honest, not just children) maintain oral hygiene. When chewed, they stain the plaque on teeth a bright purple color. I didn’t even know these were available outside of dentist office. Our dentist recommended I get these for my teen who was struggling with getting everything between teeth and it’s been a game changer. It will temporarily dye your tongue purple but it beats the cost of extensive dental work.

Welp, except for the nasty discoloring if you don't wash your sink well as a typical child wouldn't, it really has helped him be more aware of his brushing before he gets his upper braces next month. He was even excited about them. I'll take all the help I can get with this 11 year old!

I bought these for my kids. They all use them independently with just a little reminder. It has made a positive impact on their dental health. These tablets can be messy, but it is a stain after all. We have found that running water and spitting carefully into the running water prevents most of the mess. At first, these were great! I have my daughter use these, so that she can see where she still needs to brush & make sure she’s doing a thorough brushing. They worked great for a while, and I purchased multiple times, however, the past couple times, they weren’t even able to be used. In the past, the tablets have made her teeth a very vivid magenta color, and now, it doesn’t show more than a slight tint on her teeth. Sometimes we had her use multiple of them & this happened with all of them. We ordered multiple times thinking it was possibly a flake, but it wasn’t. So, the pink not showing up is odd, I know her teeth aren’t that clean because the last time she brushed was in the morning, and I know she didn’t brush them on her own, bc she is so stubborn with teeth brushing which is why we had to start using these in the first place.
