I was very surprised with the quality and sturdiness of these containers. They are made of structural foam, which I am not really familiar with. But the material is as hard or harder than plastic. It's very stiff and light. To me, it's like the titanium version of plastic! The latches are on both sides, and provide a very solid lock. Speaking of locks, there are holes for locks to be secured. The wheels roll smoothly and don't wobble. Everything seems to be well crafted and thought out.     • Great for Week Long Camping Trips or Heavy Duty Storage

I actually purchased two of these for taking on weeklong summer camping trips with my son. I volunteer with a youth outdoor program, and they recommend lockable footlockers for these camps. I found these and since I'm a fan of Plano products already, wanted to give them a shot. These are very large, clocking in at 37"x18"x14", so they're large enough to pack enough camping gear for a weeklong camp. I've packed my sleeping bag, 8 days' worth of clothes, toiletries, extra shoes, flashlights and power banks, snacks, and other things I might need. They're also pretty heavy duty, although not as heavy duty as the Pelican cases that are this size, but then again, this is about a quarter the price. They have wheels on one end, making them easy to transport if full of gear and heavy. There are handles on both ends, making it easy to lift into a truck or trailer as well. Although not waterproof, unless you're driving a pickup truck with this in the bed and you're driving through a downpour, it's not likely to leak water inside. There are a number of hacks on the internet where people add weatherstripping to these to make them nearly water and air tight. Plano does make a version of this that comes with an o-ring to make it water and air tight. For my needs, I didn't need to spend the extra money. When not being used, I store my camping gear in them in the garage, and just roll them down when I need to use them. I might actually purchase more of them to store additional things in, as they are a great value for the quality and size when compared to similar-sized totes I've seen. ... show more

Needed a sturdy kitchen box for a group kayaking/camping trip to an unimproved campground. I read the reviews and decided to give it a chance. It's big enough for plenty of gear, not so big that it's unwieldy to deal with, especially having the wheels on one end. The lid is tall so you have a little extra cheat space for last minute items. The inside tapers slightly toward the bottom, but with creative packing, this isn't an issue. The lid is strong, it was used as a bench by several in our party, also used as a cocktail table while waiting out the rain ;) Latches were tight, and the lid has a groove that fits down over the lip of the box. I didn't add any weather stripping as some people have, but the box rode out a rainy weekend with no leaks at all. Wheels rode fine over a gravelly path in and out of the campground as we had to park and haul stuff to our sites. The only negative, in my opinion, is that the box could really use a dedicated handle to pull it along. It's workable as is, a good handle would make it even better. All in all, I'm very pleased with it. I'm giving it four stars now for durability after this first trip, I will update after I have used it more, but as of now I can totally recommend this for anyone's storage needs, especially for any sort of outdoor pursuits. ... show more

Have had these for 10+ years, they are strong, durable, don't sag. Hard to find as home depot is hit and miss and glad I found them on Amazon and with a variety of colors. So not much to say other than great quality, stackable I have up to 7 high 6 across 2 deep and all are in great shape still. Oh, and lockable and rollable.
