  • Bam and Blah
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
I have bought both PI strings and Evahs and I have to say that Evahs are way better in the way they sound and are very brilliant. I cannot give them a full five stars because they go flat very, very fast. Just when you think the strings sound wonderful (they take about a week to break in)....all of a sudden.....blah (maybe about a month of life total with about 3 hours of practice a day). The flip side is the PI's (more expensive) last longer but, are just not as pretty sounding....I will review these strings later....So, I guess it is up to your budget, your practice amount, and how much you want to change your strings. I personally like these a lot so, I am stuck changing a lot of strings. Also, they sound particularly wonderful with a Westminster E....The Westminster can handle the power and brilliance of the Evahs. It's all a personal choice but, I have an older, not so easy instrument that needs some bam.....if you do too....try Evah Pirazzi strings. ... show more

  • Low quality
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
I have to express my incredible disappointment in this purchase. They arrived in an unusable condition; the A strings tailpiece winding was exceptionally thick and wouldn't fit in my standard, generic, boxwood tailpiece (I've used Evahs before just fine). The G string also was lacking most of the peg threading. The D and E strings mounted, but did not sound proper. I had some serious doubts regarding their authenticity, and was much better off getting a refund and seeing my local luthier. ... show more

  • Not as good as Gold
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
The packaging of Pirazzi strings is very confusing. I previously had the Gold packaged set ( with no gold on any strings?) and decided to replace them with the Green packaged set (reviewed here). The Green do have gold strings, so why is that? The Gold packaged Pirazzis are much warmer in tone. I really like them much more than the Green boxed strings. I'm going back to the gold boxed strings. ... show more

  • Extremely disappointed after years of purchasing
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
I've ordered my strings from this company several times on Amazon, but this time the product felt off. The strings could not hold a pitch well and bowing several times, the pitch wouldn't stabilize. This was more problematic in fingered octaves and double stops. I've had these on my instrument for the past 3 weeks and I am disappointed, out the $80 I paid for very false strings, and will now be ordering my evah's exclusively on shar music. Buyer beware! ... show more

  • Extremely pleased with these strings!
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
I will admit, I was skeptical about using synthetic-cored strings, but these strings really are very good strings. The tone is a bit brighter than what I was accustomed to but they do mellow out somewhat after they are stretched. It really did not take long for the strings to stretch either. Also, they produce a much louder sound than my previous strings. This is perfect for me. Another thing that I noticed, which is why I went with synthetic strings in the first place, is that they hold their intonation very well despite temperature change. I am extremely happy with these strings and I love how well they play on my 1925 German violin. ... show more

  • A whole new tone with these strings!
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
I've used these strings with my violin (I have modern Gregg Alf violin) that tends to have darker tone with other strings. These strings brings all new tone characteristics to the violin that just great for playing the Bach pieces. The lower string is deeper and the E brilliance is more pronounced. May not be for everyone, but personally for me, these strings bring a whole new sound to my violin ... show more

  • DON’TE WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
If it was possible to give 0 stars to this, I would have done so! The e string popped without any reason after two weeks of changing the strings in my violin. I didn’t pay attention to the other bad reviews because I used to use these strings in my home country and they were good, but I don’t know what happened here. I wanna say is the seller because I’ve never had problems with eBay before. Just wasted my money and time waiting for the strings to accommodate, which they never did ... show more

  • Bad A String
Color: 4/4 Medium Goldsteel E Loop End
Usually love these strings, but I put them on less than a week ago and the A string is already splitting. Very disappointing when they cost so much.
