I have lots of decor around the house that is industrial and made from steel piping. I bought this item and the main piece is a different type of pipe and doesn’t fit all the way in the other pieces. It’s covered in this black powder substance and the moment I touched it, it got all over my hands.

This item requires specific tools(plumbers pipe wrench) and preparation of the pipe with specific products that are not listen in the product details. Tightening the piece without these items is extremely difficult. It should ship fully assembled for customer convenience.     • Sturdy, Cool Looking, but May Scratch Counters
It's exactly what you see in the picture. We love ours, but the bare metal threatened to scratch our countertops. What we did to remedy this was get a couple wine corks, cut a same-length pieces out of them for each leg, and twist them into the leg. The threading in each leg makes twisting by hand a little tough, but it also ensures that the corks won't fall out. Make sure the exposed cork is equal length on each leg so it doesn't wobble. If you're willing to go this extra mile you'll have a really cool piece that won't do any unintended damage. ... show more

I didn't read the fine print or reviews, because why, a paper towel holder, right?!? Was surprised to get it in pieces, re read everything and was disappointed in my mistake, at first, didn't want a project. However, a few days later I changed my mind and it sounded fun, I did still need a paper towel holder. I read the directions and reviews, explored all the options and possibilities, colors and finishes. In the end I stuck with the recommended minwax, as the pictured look is what I wanted and I'm really happy with it. It's easy to assemble. Directions are easy to follow. I love the look of this item. Super easy to assemble. Only reason for 4 stars is because this really does put the rust in rustic. I like to keep my paper towels next to the sink for hand drying, but sink water splashing up to the counters causes rust from the feet. The title and description say and detail "DIY-style". So, you'll need to spend another $10-20 on sealants, cleaners, adhesives, etc., if you don't have that stuff sitting around. From there, you do need to address the metal feet to avoid rusting, or scratches on your countertop. Other users suggested a great solution of furniture pads. If you want to spend a few more bucks, I went for 1-1/4 Inch Round Black Vinyl End Caps, and cut them down (pictured). It's a cool piece. ... show more
