Description

Enter The Mine at your own risk! You'll need to don your iron armor for this dangerous expedition. Grab your iron pickaxe and venture into the darkness, keeping an eye out for hostile mobs that lurk deep in the mine. Plant the TNT and activate the explosion function to blast away the rock face. Then load up the precious ores, jump aboard the mine cart and hurtle past the Creeper, zombie and skeleton, using the iron sword to keep them at bay until you're safely above ground. It isn't as if Lego needs help with selling their sets, but if you are pausing on this one because of the expense, don't. They hit a home run with this one. The City, Ninjago, and HP sets have got some competition! This is one of the most fun sets of Legos, and it is built such, that if you get two sets, you can put them back to back removing the bottom support bricks of one set, to put them together and the minecart tracks make a complete looping circuit through the mine. The minecart even has the round nibs on the bottom to guide it along the track so Steve or Mobs can slide down the ramp and take a ride. ... show more

Large, detailed set. My son and I particularly enjoyed the modular nature of the structure, as it's designed to pop apart in six "cells" so you can put them together in new configurations. Lots of stuff to do here, but the mine cart on rails is a favorite. We built this on my son's lego table and then used other pieces to extend the cart rails. It is pricey (like all Legos attached to games and movies) but worth it. My boy wanted this one more than all the other Minecraft sets combined. ... show more

    • Great set! Hard to move.
My son loved this set! He loves anything Lego, and now that they have the Minecraft line he is even more of a fan! I mostly built this set for him and it was fairly easy to follow. The only problem I had was when building the track portion of this set, it kept coming off from the main portion which to me seems like a design flaw, as I followed the instructions to a T. Also when building make sure it is built where you want it to stay because this is damn near impossible to move without the whole track and other parts near the bottom breaking off. Which was highly frustrating. Overall this was a great set though, my son had loads of fun playing with it! ... show more

My son loves this thing. He loves the TNT that blows up and the mine cart and everything about the set! He plays with it all the time! Legos and Minecraft combined is the dream of every 6-12 year old boy, right? I actually really love the Minecraft lego sets because minecraft kits can be added to rather easily since it is "blocky" unlike the lego city cars and such where they just build them and walk away.... ... show more

Great Lego set! My 7 year old son's favorite Christmas gift (he is CRAZY for Minecraft). It comes with several mini figures and was an awesome addition to his collection. Construction was time consuming as this is a pretty big build but was a great father/son activity over a couple of days and the instruction booklets are easy to follow as expected. Love this Lego set. My son and I spent a couple hours a day for two days building this set. The set is large and actually stays together well. My grandson was absolutely delighted. He plays with the set constantly. I like the concept, since the physical Lego set helps him with hand and eye coordination and small motor skills, and he can relate it to the online game, which teaches him strategy and cooperation. I've since ordered more sets in the series. While this main set is pricey, comparison shopping led me to Amazon, where I found a slightly lower prices than other online vendors, and the price was much lower than local toy and department stores. ... show more
