This is a nice paddle and ball set. Honestly, I ordered it just to get the 3 star balls as we have plenty of paddles. My only quibble is, while I do like the smooth paddle for certain play, I also like the nibs side of a paddle. These pads are inverted on both sides, smooth, with no nibs on the back side. I like a reversible paddle like that, but these smooth paddles are pretty solid otherwise. They have a good weight and feel good, I just wish they had nibs on one side for more ball traction. This is a very good mid-performance set of balls and paddles. You get great ball control from the tacky foam paddle face but -YOU MUST remove the protective plastic film first (see photo), and once you do you'll want to let them air out a bit before play. The paddles are made light for quick reaction times and control, but I'd like to see a bit more smoothness to the exposed wood edges. This is a really nice set. They feel like nice quality paddles. The paddles have 2 mm of sponge on them. The handles aren't too bad and fir nicely in my hand. They're lightweight and easy to maneuver. It took a hit getting use to but once I played a bit I felt like I became even better at ping pong lol. Happy with the set. ... show more

It's a good value at about $8 per paddle and balls. If you're just playing as a hobby and not overly picky, it does the job. Good for basic family/friends fun. I've owned other paddles before, and this one is not rubbery/sticky at all - just completely smooth surface.

This set is really good, even more so considering the price at just under $30. The paddles are solid and feel pretty good, the balls also feel sturdy. Feels good when you hit the ball with the paddle, has good contact and material is alright. Regarding the material on the paddle portion, it will tear or get pierced if in contact with sharp or pointed objects. The balls seem to fly well and bounce well on the table. Also really like the case it comes in. There are cut outs for all of the paddles so they aren't just floating around inside, same for the balls.
