This lighting kit is certainly enough for a beginner. It provides very good illumination in a 'studio' type (and sized) environment. The tripods are a little flimsy. They're certainly fine indoors on a firm flat surface, but I wouldn't want to try using them (with the large sail like reflectors) outside in any kind of breeze. When raised to, say 6 feet (2 meters) they're a bit top heavy. Very good value. You get pretty much all you'll need for any 'standard' type shoot. It also has a storage bag. Note: The fittings (supplied in the USA kit I received) use the conventional E27 screw thread, so you can use lower wattage/different bulbs, if that fits your shoot requirements. ... show more

These are literally so awesome. I’m only 16, and I didn’t even need the directions to assemble it. It all clicked right together easily. They look professional, and can go up to at least 7 Feet (as high as my ceiling would allow them to go.) They we’re super bright, and definitely worth the price. I'm fairly new to photography and green screen videos but assembling and using the lights was very easy. I'm still making adjustments to my craft but that's no reflection on the product. The lights made it that much easier.

I've been a lifelong photographer and art, portfolio producer. This, imo, is a great value. The *boom arm - wish sold separately too at as good a price point (don't see anywhere so unsure if may be replaced of damaged/broke). My application for this/these initially is specifically for use as a "grow light", bulb cluster, use. It's working out very well. It is such a flexible, configurable design for how I need it to work - it in many ways beats out my other options for this purpose of use. I recommend it - and again - but not sure where to replace or add on a boom-arm and see/fond nothing and to buy another kit, just for the arm is a bit "much" - esp if appropriately priced for the few who may use, need them. I hope that helps someone! PS: as far as in comparison to other items, as "pro" equipment since see that here and have used allot of equipment. No negatives came to mind. If used for a "remote shoot" - everyone works their own method, would likely "sand bag" the stands. Moreover, the heavier the gauge steel used, the heavier the kit to move around. I found it if not "robust" - functional and w/o issue for me if even doing stills "in the field", etc. ... show more
