  • A First-Rate Luxury Toothbrush
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black
This toothbrush is expensive, as an ordinary toothbrush can be had for less than $2. What you are buying here is an extraordinary toothbrush, for those who wish to maintain or achieve exceptional oral hygiene. I upgraded from the Philips Sonicare HX5310/12 Essence Classic. While the HX5310 did a great job removing plaque, I was always bothered by the buildup of water, toothpaste, and general gunge that would occur in the space where the brush head connects to the brush handle. The HX9352 DiamonClean has solved that problem by having a very clean connection point between the brush head and handle. I also get longer use from the DiamondClean brush heads over the E-Series brush heads. The design of the DiamondClean brush is different and I believe sturdier, in that the brush fibers are grouped together in larger segments, making for fewer bristle groups versus a larger amount of smaller bristle groups. The HX9352 is a really more of a kit than a standalone toothbrush. A sleek, removable glass cup rests on a chrome base. The chrome base plugs into your outlet. The DiamondClean charges wirelessly through the cup. It is a very natural setup, no need to properly place the toothbrush on a charger, as long as the base of the brush rests on the bottom of the cup it will charge. The DiamondClean also comes with a very futuristic travel case. It feels crush resistant but I haven't tested it for impact. The case is made of a woven synthetic that reminds me of a bullet proof vest. The case is also very easy to clean and will hold the brush (head removed) and a spare head. Another great feature beyond the wireless charging is the ability to charge the toothbrush via USB. The case also has wireless charging capabilities, so technically you could discreetly charge your toothbrush in an airport all while keeping the case closed and the brush clean. DiamondClean also has several modes: Clean, White, Polish, Gum Care, Sensitive. They appear backlit by a white light when you remove the toothbrush from the cup or case. Otherwise the tooth brush is totally black, the only writing being Philips Sonicare above the power button. It is a very attractive, lightweight product with a matte satin finish (it is very pleasing to the touch). The battery power is exceptionally long, I've experienced up to two weeks without noticing diminished power. Overall, this is a first-rate, luxury product and I would not hesitate to purchase it again. ... show more

  • Converted from the Oral-B 7000
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black
I have always been a Braun consumer. I love German products and own a Series 7 Braun shaver (which I love) and have used Oral-B toothbrushes for the majority of my life. I purchased this Sonicare because I was still getting somewhat poor dental checkups and remembered several co-workers that had really recommended Sonicare, along with my dental hygienist. So, I thought why not, and as a self-proclaimed gadget nerd, had to go with the best. First and foremost, this toothbrush looks awesome. It's sleek, has a unique charging base, and can be charged in it's travel case. The matte black finish is definitely an upgrade from the black rubbery finish of the Oral-B 7000 toothbrush. I have not had any issues with holding the handle while brushing, but If you like to hold on to your toothbrush with a dripping wet hand, you may have a problem. Also, the long debated topic of which cleaning action is better may last forever, but based on my experience, the Sonicare is the absolute, hands down winner. I used to floss before every brush with the Oral-B (as recommended) but I was not seeing any major improvements in my oral health (I suffer from minor gingivitis). After using the Sonicare, I unintentionally started skipping my floss routine and it was not even noticed! My morning breath is fresh, my gums are healthy, and my teeth are whiter! When I finally do floss, with a couple of weeks in between, there is no heavy blood oozing everything like before! This is why I will never look back to Oral-B! I just get a better cleaning feeling using the Sonicare than I did with Oral-B.. which brings me to my next point... I never used any of the other 5 cleaning modes on the Oral-B 7000, and after the first couple of months, put the "Smart Guide" back in the box. This, in my opinion, is a bit gimmicky. I don't like gimmicky stuff, and the Sonicare is just business. Sure, it offers additional cleaning modes as well, but it doesn't feel excessive. I only use the "Gum Care" mode, as it offers an extra minute of gentler action to stimulate your gums. The Sonicare does shut off after the allotted time for each mode, something that the Oral-B allowed users to program to be able to brush for as long as they want. While I sometimes miss this option, it's not a deal breaker. Overall, if you are trying to decide between the Oral-B 7000 and the Sonicare DiamondClean, go with the DiamondClean. Other than the ability to program the brush to your liking, the Sonicare brush beats the Oral-B in every other category. Looks, function, effectiveness. If you think about it, there is probably a reason why the Oral-B is selling at a bigger discount than the Sonicare... ... show more

  • A perfectly executed machine. Pricey, but it's the ultimate travel toothbrush.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black
This thing is The Bomb! First class materials, design, fit & finish. The included glass fits on top of the charging base. The inside base of the glass fits the bottom of the motor, so you just put the unit in the glass and it charges. Pretty clever! I have been traveling for 5 weeks with just the carrying case (no glass or glass charging base). The case also contains a charger! And it's USB, so you can charge it from any USB source. I have been charging it from my laptop. Just lay the brush motor in the case, plug into a USB source (multi-voltage power supply included, but I just use a USB port in my laptop) and it charges. Best of all: one charge has lasted me about 2 weeks of twice-daily use. That's amazing! I had to get used to the brush itself. My Braun electric toothbrush at home really moves, i.e. the brush head moves through a wide range and also vibrates. This unit sort of "buzzes" at a much higher frequency. It doesn't even look like the head is moving cause it oscillates so fast and through a smaller range. But if you hold it under water you'll see it super-energized. It cleans really well, and that's the main thing. I think that the higher frequency might even clean better than my Braun, and I would guess it's a more efficient unit, which is why they can get such amazing battery life on a single charge. The case itself is another little work of art. It has a fabric covering, and a magnetic closure. The inside holds the motor and 2 heads perfectly, and the contents don't rattle when it's closed. I bought the black model, as pictured, and I worried that toothpaste might really show on the black surface. But that's not the case. It rinses clean. ... show more
