  • Having a Lot of Fun. Don't See the Problems Others Report
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard Edition
I bought this at launch, even pre-ordered it so I could get MJ in the game and I have really been enjoying the game. At first, I had swing timing issues, but this was corrected by switching graphics modes. Agreed, you shouldn't HAVE to work around a development issue, but it is not game-breaking. The graphics still look beautiful on Xbox Series X. I would have given five stars except the game does feel light in some areas and at the AAA price point of seventy dollars (Or more for additional editions) there should be more game here. The character creator is very thin and your clothing and gear options without having to pay real money are very sparse. For example, if you want the Air Jordan pack, it is twenty dollars for five pieces of gear and the gear is for men only with the exception of a women's hat. Why the ladies can't wear Jordan shorts or a t-shirt is beyond me. Don't give in to the overpriced microtransactions. Finding user created courses is confusing and should be a menu option. Topgolf is a lackluster throwaway disguised as a meaningful game mode. It sounds like I am really down on the game, but I really do enjoy it. Consumers deserve to know there are issues that a full priced game should not have launched with and the microtransaction model will sap your wallet. I am hopeful 2K will continue to work on patches and expand what could be a really great golf game. EDIT 10/31/2022 OK, I saw all the five star reviews and had to inject a dose of reality. This game is very, very, OK, but it is NOT a five star game. Character creation has gone backwards a mile, in game currency is hard to come by as 2K wants to sell you in game currency for real money to buy meaningless cosmetics. Add to that, a twenty dollar Clubhouse Pass to get anything worthwhile for your player. A patch was released last week that broke club selection in your bag and it still hasn't been addressed. PGA Tour event courses are missing due to licensing. For seventy dollars, this game needs work before it passes even the three star level. Yes, I'm still having fun, but we all deserve more for the money. ... show more

  • Full of Bugs
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard Edition
I was enjoying this game for several days however the more I use the career mode I'm getting screen lockups all the time. Its really annoying. You have to exit the game, quit, then restart and come back into your career to continue where it crashed. It usually crashes when it goes into a cut scene to see where your rival is at in the tournament. I've had it randomly crash in other areas of the game but its pretty consistent when going into cut scenes where it'll just hang and nothing seems to happen while the logo just spins on the screen. They need to issue bug fixes asap. Until then this game only gets 2 stars. Fix the bugs and its a 4 to 5 star game IMHO. ... show more

  • "Worth getting"
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard Edition
I have seen a few people have left poor reviews for this game for the PS5 but I have to disagree with them this game looks great very smooth. You can use the analog swing or the 3 click swing to hit the ball and I will say the 3 click is done in a different way then ever before but once you get the feel for it it's fine. I have the 2k21 version and that swing was all analog and I could shoot around 10 to 12 under par for 18 holes but I think this one will be a bit harder to do I played 18 holes last night and I was 2 under par I could have been even better but I miss played a few holes but I did have a eagle on a par 5. You have the option to turn off the wind one thing I did notice if you leave it on the wind can get up to about 15mph at times but that is how it is in real golf but I just think if you give the game some time to get use to everything you will enjoy it I have no regrets. ... show more

  • Another great game in the series.
Platform For Display: Xbox Series X Edition: Standard Edition
This is about the 6th version of this game which was originally called The Golf Club by HB Studios. I have played and loved them all, hundreds of rounds each on every earlier version. A little better graphics, better everything than the 2K21 version. I had one time the game froze, but never again in many rounds, so it is stable. My favorite sports sim series ever! ... show more
