  • Lovely
I use this product about once a week, when my face is feeling oily or I feel like I'm breaking out. The smell isn't overpowering, it's easy to apply, and it makes my skin feel oh-so-soft and lovely after I wash it off. I recommend it.

  • Helped a bit I believe
Used on cystic acne I think it aided in helping to dry out but wasn’t my favorite solution. I ended up using a different product.

  • The answer to all my problems
Hi, adult acne sufferer. I'm 26 years old, female, and over the past few years I've been at absolute WAR with my skin. I know the issue is hormonal - my acne got 70% worse when I got a hormonal IUD inserted but I don't want to get rid of the IUD so I figured I'd just deal with the acne. I eat really healthy, don't consume dairy or soy, and drink plenty of water. Well, the acne has only gotten worse. A few nights before my product arrived I sat on the toilet crying as yet more nasty pustules had popped up on my forehead. I looked like, in my opinion, a gross greasy-faced teenager. Finally when my sulfur mask arrived I used it immediately. First observances: The smell, of course, which right out of the tub isn't too terrible. They definitely used some stuff to try and cover up the sulfur smell. Second, it stung my eyes a little bit from the fumes. After I rinsed it off is when the sulfur smell REALLY hit me, but I honestly didn't mind. It reminded me of when I visited some hot springs in Costa Rica. The next day, I was SHOCKED to see the redness and size of ALL my zits had decreased significantly. Two more nightly uses of this and it's practically not noticeable. I read the reviews saying it shouldn't be used every day, so I stopped for a night and went back to my old face cleaner, a gentle salicylic acid facial cleanser. BIG mistake. The next day I had two new zits. So, back to the mask. I also used it as a spot treatment for some of my more stubborn ones. Because my skin is so oily, I so far haven't had an issue using this product every night. The thing that impresses me the most about this product is how well it works on cystic acne. Everything I read said that cystic acne is 100% incurable unless you get accutane or a cortisone shot. Well, I had several cysts attempt to pop up, but after a few rounds of this mask they shrunk immediately and never came to be. I'm going to be looking at other products by Peter Thomas Roth as this seems to be the key to finally unlocking my stubborn adult acne. Updating my review after a few more weeks of use - WOW. I have almost clear skin. I've had no issues using this every day. I still have a few come up here and there but instead of the usual angry, huge red pustules, they come to a head quickly and are gone in a week or two. After they come to a head I use the CosRx acne pimple patches to draw out the sebum. I still have some leftover pustules from before I began using this product that are trying to heal slowly, but seriously, my skin has never looked better. ... show more

  • It works!
I’ll be honest. This is the most expensive mask I’ve ever bought, but I can no longer live with maskne! I am desperate and this had good reviews. I’ve only used it once and I’m impressed. I put it in the refrigerator when I got it and used it that night. I highly recommend doing this because it’s even more soothing. I have combination, acne-prone skin and wearing a mask for hours is tearing my face up. Before COVID, my face was clear. Not anymore. I applied a thin, cool layer of this mask to my face with a silicone spatula/brush. I left it on for almost ten minutes. I then washed it off easily with warm water. My face was not tight at all, and I have to say even glowing a little bit. I then used my Missha essence, Naturium azelaic acid serum, Biossance squalene and probiotic moisturizer, and Etude House sleeping mask. The next morning, my acne was already improved. Just a little, but it was noticeable. Less inflammation and less red bumps. The redness had also been toned down. Therefore, I have high hopes for this mask. I plan to use it two to three times a week until my maskne clears up. I also just bought the PTR cooling cucumber green mask to use after this one to replace more moisture and reduce even more redness hopefully. There are cheaper alternatives, but I was afraid to use a sulfur ointment mask. This had better reviews. I’ll let y’all know how it goes. Stay tuned. Also, some people mentioned they used this mask as a spot treatment. I’m not sure that’s such a good idea. Too drying and messy. I think I’ll use the PTR sulfur spot treatment instead. ... show more

  • Nice
I needed to take more steps to clean and moisturize my skin. I had developed really bad acne from the mask. Big cystic acne on my chin and sides of my face. I also developed deep pore blackheads in my cheeks. I gave this product 4 stars but value for money two stars. i decided not to put it on areas of my skin that were clear and oil free (my forehead). It helped my cystic acne calm down a bit, specially after the second use. But it did do wonders for my deep pore blackheads. This product is heavily overpriced for a 5oz. container. But if I continue to see good results with the blackheads, I may consider buying it again. For anyone considering using the product, I definitely recommend not leaving it on more than ten minutes. Use as directed. Just ten min max, and 2-3 times a week. ... show more
