I’m giving four stars for the quality of the meat and the amount for the price. We are extremely picky about our jerky, especially the moisture content. People’s Choice is almost there for us, but still too moist. We like very dry (but not fall apart the minute you touch it) jerky. This just didn’t fit the bill. The taste was pretty good, but again just didn’t quite live up to our expectations. This jerky is definitely on the sweeter side, so if you like your jerky salty or without sugar, this isn’t the right pick. We like salty and highly peppered jerky, so we bought the Black Pepper flavor. It had a black pepper flavor to it, but the brown sugar overwhelmed most of the other flavors. Again, if you like moist jerky that has a very sweet taste, this is for you. However, if you’re like my family and prefer your cow dry as the desert and just as salty/peppery, I would recommend No Man’s Land. ... show more

Every year or so whether or not I hunt. I tend to make a bunch of batches of jerking. But at the same time I love to dip and retail and see what's out there. I wanted to see if there was some sort of flavor choice I could dip into like the sweet chili habanero. I love having arrow and I love chili. Sweet sounded even better. The problem with this is that every piece is so dried out that you could crush it in your hands into little flakes of sugar. Flavored habanero/ chili pepper pieces of beef that you can marinate on like dip in your mouth. I read a lot of reviews and a lot of people talk this stuff up and I was super looking forward to it. I don't know if I got a bad batch but the stuff is good until September of this year (2024). I feel kind of bummed out because I bought one of the bigger bags. I hope this is just a fluke but at this point I'm going to start looking for other brands. I still probably have a pound of the stuff left and it really stinks because I wanted to really like it. Flavor Name: Orange Honey Teriyaki Size: 16 Ounce (Pack of 1)
The Orange Honey Teriyaki jerky is ok, but not something I would generally recommend. 1. Texture is pretty hard and tough. It's still edible but its pushing the boundaries of acceptable hardness in my opinion. I would strongly suggest softening up the jerky just a little bit at least. 2. For some reason it feels like every single piece was dipped in lard before it was placed in the package. Every time I pulled out a piece of jerky it was just covered in nasty grease, and in some cases it would be semi-solid and bunched up on the jerky which is again nasty if you eat it. Definitely not something I recommend. 3. Adding Orange flavoring to Teriyaki isn't a completely horrible, but it also isn't particularly good. I would have been perfectly happy without the orange flavor at all, I don't feel like it adds anything to the overall flavor profile. While you can definitely taste the orange however, it also doesn't completely ruin the flavor either. So its still edible, but not a flavor combination I would normally recommend. Instead I would strongly recommend their normal slab teriyaki jerky. It has a slightly better texture, the flavor is nice and sweet at first, then mellows out into a smokey meat flavor. While still not one of the top jerky's I've ever had, it is far more acceptable in my opinion than the orange teriyaki flavor. And if you are considering the Hot & Spicy, holy crap that is so dry and brittle. I'm not sure why there is so much variation between the jerky texture with the various flavors but this has to be the driest jerky I have ever tried. Overall... If you get the right flavor (teriyaki slab) then the jerky is acceptable, but not great. If you get any of the other flavors that I've tried then you're likely in for a few surprises with taste and texture. Expect all of their Jerky's to be on the dry side, some just significantly more so than others, but none of them would be considered even remotely close to soft or moist. ... show more

We were very excited to try this. First off the flavor was good. It had the perfect amount of heat. The bag was full. And the pieces were a great size. This is the only reason I generously gave it an 2 star rating.the problem was that one could lose a tooth or 2 trying to bite into it. We tried cutting it into small piece to see if that would help but it didn’t. Very tough, hard, un-eatable jerky. You literally had to swallow it whole if you dared. It was like swallowing your gum.
