It came in a sturdy box. Once you figured out how to release the pendulum from its stowed position, it was easy to assemble. There are no instructions to do this and you have to lift the plastic arm up from the clip holding it. Peel the protective film off the pendulum and hang from the arm. Pay attention on how the 2 AA batteries are to be installed (not installed). The pendulum swings great only if the clock is balanced properly. I had to pull the metal hanging hook out a bit to get the balance correct. It is very easy to do. I would definitely recommend this fine looking pendulum clock. ... show more

I've only had this clock for a short time, but so far I'm pleased. The color is as hoped, based on the description/photos, and it runs accurately and quietly. However, as with some products, it takes a little "fiddling" to get it working properly. Perhaps not ideal, but no problem for me, or, I think, most people. The batteries were slightly difficult to install, but doable. The pendulum arm is soft metal and easily bent. It must be carefully bent straight, and the pendulum weight adjusted as high up the arm as possible. The clock must be hung straight. If these things are done, then the pendulum shouldn't hit the sides of the clock. ... show more

Keeps perfect time but when you start off, ya may need to adjust the pendulum. It was hitting one side rather loudly. Sometimes you here a soft tick but I like it better than the clock ai had

Many years ago I got my mom a schoolhouse clock. After 30 some odd years the clock just stopped working. She wanted a new one. I wanted to get a wooden clock, so many of the cocks these days are plastic. This one is wood and looks great. The clock is nice. The only problem I have is I can't get the pendulum to work. I keep pushing side to side and it stops. I have changed the battery several times and I still can't get the pendulum to work.
