Everything is made of solid wood and sturdy. Very easy to assemble however, the instructions were pictures only and not very detailed. It's a simple design and the only hardware you will be working with are screws and an Allen key that are included. Very simple to assemble! Table and benches came in 4 very large and heavy boxes so I was a little intimidated when it delivered but working together with my son, it only took us about 30 minutes to complete and looks great. I bought this on a Monday night and it was here on Friday. It came in 4 boxes each box had its own instructions and tools. I started it at 9 am on Sunday and took a little break but was done by 2. I put it together myself. It turned out to beautiful. I was surprised by the real wood and how heavy duty it is. I waited a year to do this review to make sure to put it to the test! I have to say that this gorgeous nook is definitely worth the extra we paid for it compared to some of the others I saw in my search on here. I looked at others that were a little over half the price of this one but the quality wasn’t there IMO! You are paying for quality here, which is exactly the word I would use to describe this beautiful set! It's heavy solid wood, you don’t have to worry if it’s going to bow, or the wood split etc. while relaxing on the benches. The 2 benches open up to lots of storage space which is so convenient! It also saves space if you have a small nook area like mine, instead of chairs out in the middle of the room, just slide the bench completely under the table. I also love the look of the dark wood against the bright white. You get what you pay for as the saying goes…..It’s well worth it to invest in quality and fine workmanship for your money! We ordered this set to be a lovely game table for our family of six (4 teenagers and 2 adults). We needed a large table with plenty of space for all six of us to sit at comfortably. It arrived in 4 large, heavy boxes and with 3 of us assembling (1 opening boxes and removing packaging, another pre-assembling screws, and the third person coming behind with an electric screw driver) we assembled the set in it’s entirety in under an hour. The instructions were easy to follow and the packaging more than sufficient in protecting the table (which is heavy, solid, real wood) during shipment. We were quite impressed! Each bench attached to the corner seat lifts up, and both have a “slow closing” lid. We added a head chair just for seating options more than necessary space. We absolutely love it and are very happy with our purchase! And we saved $800 ordering with Pemberly through Amazon, than going with another set in a local furniture store! ... show more

Overall we are happy with this dining set. However, when we were assembling it, one of the screw anchors that are imbedded in the bench came loose and detached completely not allowing us to secure the screw. We are still able to use the set, but I' concerned about long term use with a missing screw in one of the benches. It's not something that we can easily replace by going to Home Depot. We reached out to the seller who was quick to respond. They gave us two options: return the entire set at our expense for a refund or keep the set and receive a small refund to make up for the inconvenience. All I wanted was for them to send me a new part that wasn't defective. $300 back is nice and all but it doesn't solve the problem. ... show more

Item took nearly 1 month to arrive. Once I received it I opened boxes and saw that the color was way off. The white was more cream or light yellow. Not even close to a white as shown in the picture
