I have been using the Pellethead Ash Vault Pro 5-Gallon 10-Amp Ash Vacuum for a few months now and my opinion is that it is at most okay for what I am using it for. It maybe better for other things. But for pellets stoves, if the performance has dropped, you need to clean the Heat-Resistant HEPA Filter. The fine dust from the burn pot clogs it up badly. I attempt to clean it once a week as I tend to clean the pellet stove daily. Okay, now the miss leading things that I noticed. Is the Pellethead vac 10amps? The label on the head-end states 9amps (pictured). I purchased it because it advertised as an 10Amp Vac. Under the head-end unit there is a red button. I would like to know if this is the reset button or is it a safety switch to ensure that there is a filter? If it is the reset, then it won't work as intended, as the filter holds it down. If it is a safety switch for the filter then Okay. I will need to investigate this a bit more. At the moment I am giving this a 3 star for the misleading of the Amperage power. People need to clean it more often due to the lack of performance. If you don't, it will eventually burn out the motor. ... show more

Don't bother using a shop vacuum for cleaning your pellet stove! This ash pellet vacuum is AWESOME for ASHES!!! Not too heavy and easy to clean! The dual filters combined with the suction instantly remove ash from the pellet stove. In the winter months, (October- April), on a daily basis, I remove the ash pot and clean the ash fallen off to the sides of it. I have owned this cleaner for a year now. I have yet to empty the tank and the filters are intact from day one of purchase. This was a phenominal purchase on my part, I must say! To the manufacturer, I would recommend a convertible, small attachment that would allow reaching inside above the door of my stove (PelPro 130) to access those hard to reach places when doing a total maintenance on the stove. A tool of sorts would be helpful sucking the fine powder that accumulates in the hopper. Overall, this is a five star vacuum!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 ... show more

Burning wood is MESSY. I just keep this little guy next to the stove and hit the switch and BAM, the whole area, (and the inside of the stove) is clean in a very short time. I like that it has the hepa filter, and that it's about as fire proof as you can make something that does the job that this thing does. filter is easy to clean, just take it outside and bang it around a little and it's ready for the next cleanup. Understandably, using a hepa filter to clean ash is going to make frequent cleanings necessary. I usually have to clean it after a couple of times cleaning up around the stove unless Im picking up A LOT of ash. ... show more

This is a GREAT vacuum for the ash and like the ad states, with the double filters, there was no ash in the air. Didn't even notice that I had cleaned out the pellet stove as the filters did their job. It did really suck the ash out of the pellet stove quite well. I WISH THERE WAS A SMALLER SIZE. I JUST USE IT FOR MY PELLET STOVE SO I DONT SO MUCH SPACE TO HOLD THE ASHES. I LIKE THE SMALLER SIZE ATTACHMENTS. PACKAGING WAS RECYCLABLE.

Suction is not as strong as similar sized Shop Vacs, assume this is due to filtration media. Battery operation is very convenient. No ash coming out of vacuum into the room. Good for ash, not clinkers. Build quality is good. Very happy with it.
