    Worked well! I took this on several trips, including 2 kayaking trips and a trip in a high speed boat and it worked great! I decided to see if it was true that I could take pictures with my phone inside it, and it actually does work pretty well. It was a little awkward trying to press the power button to wake my phone up, but I was able to take pictures and they turned out fine. It got splashed heavily when the waves got choppy while kayaking, but my phone stayed dry. I would definitely recommend it. I have a pretty large phone (almost 7" long) and it fit comfortably inside the XL size. I do warn you that if you order the twin pack, Amazon might send you a single pack (that happened twice to me) so it was really a pain because I had to call customer service and explain everything (because it had been on sale, it wouldn't allow me to just do an automatic return). ... show more

      • Not great for larger phones, but it'll do. Used for Iphone + Samsung

    I bought a 2 pack of pelican waterproof phone cases for myself and my mom to take kayaking with us. I tested them the day before to ensure they worked, and this left the camera a little bit blurry due to the water drying on the plastic I guess. But they are waterproof, and they do float. I got mine soaked for quite a few hours, and it never got into the case. We were in the hot sun too, and it didn't melt which impressed me. That plastic is notorious for being melty. The camera works well with it, I took several pictures that look great and you can't tell it's in a plastic case. I will say that I have a larger phone and the selfie camera was an absolute no go with this case. It cuts off the top of the photo and you have to actually try and manuever the phone downward for it to even halfway work, but there really isn't enough room. It is definitely a tight fit. My mom's photos also looked good, I'm not sure about her selfie camera. The only thing is you have to make sure the plastic is cleaned and no water is dried near the camera. I have a Samsung s21 Ultra and I did have to remove my Unicorn Beetle Supcase, which is similar to the size of an otter box case. It did just barely fit with the case on, but I was not confident about it staying closed and waterproof with the case so I just removed it and it worked fine. I had no problem using my phone in the pelican case, and it was able to keep it safe from harm (i dropped it, whoops). Overall I would rate this product higher if not for my mom's experience. My mom has one of the newer iPhones, I believe a 13. She has just a regular small case on hers and did not have to remove it for it to fit inside the waterproof pelican case. She mentioned that it was difficult to call and had to remove it from the pelican case to call, she was having issues with the touch screen, she mentioned that her phone overheated and wouldn't allow her to use it a few times, (mine didn't do that, I don't think Samsung does that. but I also was getting mine in the water so that might have been cooler.) Overall, this product does what it says it does, It is completely waterproof and does float for a time. I don't think it would float forever because of the way it is designed it would probably eventually run out of air pockets and sink, but you would have a good bit to get to it if you dropped it before it drowned.     The media could not be loaded. I bought these phone pouches because I trusted the Pelican name to remain sealed underwater while we went snorkeling on a cruise. I wasn't disappointed. The fit was perfect and not too tight for my Samsung S22 Ultra and my wife's iPhone 13 Pro Max. The window on the front is large enough to not cover any important parts of the screens and the rear window was the perfect size for both rear cameras regardless of shape. I opted for the XL case just to have a little more wiggle room sliding the phones in without taking off our cases. The two folding clips that open and close the pouch are easy to use in and out of the water. The clear plastic only fogged up on one use and that was from being opened/closed multiple times while in the water, so the temperature difference finally caught it, but it didn't fog much. Performance was great with floating in the ocean, and since it has a slide toggle on the lanyard we were able to tighten them up so they wouldn't float off of us if a wave hit. The video and picture were take on the Samsung while in the pouch and showed no signs of clarity or quality issues. The only problem and this was from not thinking on my part, the salt water activates the touch sensors through the plastic when submerged, no issues above water. So the video I had to start before going underwater. The photo I was able to take underwater and use my phones side buttons. This problem can be fixed probably if you can put spacers like cabinet bump stops on the corners of the phone to prevent the plastic from sucking to the screen. Or if you're able to use side buttons it's no problem underwater. Used it at the lake too on the jetski and now I don't have to fumble with unlocking a hard case to get the phone out to take pictures. ... show more

      • Pelican continues to live up to its name

    Works as advertised. I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the phone fits well without my regular case. With my Otterbox Defender it will not fit at all. As suggested by the description the fingerprint reader doesn't work with this case, but otherwise the touch screen is still responsive. I didn't go crazy submerging my phone in water, but i definitely got the case wet jet skiing and my phone stayed nice and dry. My only recommendation is if you have a larger phone, or a phone with several lenses like the Galaxy Ultra models - make sure your lenses are positioned in the window so they don't obstruct taking photos. ... show more
