Stellar product! I own a 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L and have always been very disappointed with the amount of performance products available for this truck. In other words, there is hardly anything out there. I was very skeptical about this product as well, and I I decided to call the customer service at Pedal Commander to see what they had to say about this unit on my specific truck. She was able to get me the data I was looking for, so I took the plunge and bought it. They and the retailer who sold me this unit where very responsive in making sure that I received the correct model for my truck (as requested in the item description). When I received the unit a couple of days ago, the instructions where very clear and concise as well. I was having issues in taking off my wiring harness on the pedal itself, so I called Pedal Commanders customer service once again, and the tech was very helpful. He text me pics of the Toyota gas pedal harness so I could see how the clip off and was a huge help. I've now had this unit a couple of days installed, and it makes a huge difference on how responsive the gas pedal is... This does not add any HP, just makes sure that you grab the available HP when and how you like it from the gas pedal. My Tacoma drives like a new machine now and the immediate response on "sport" mode with level 5 tuning is outstanding. It is much quicker than I imagined and I would highly recommend this to anyone especially those 2005-2013 2nd Gen Tacoma owners. What a difference for $299! Well done Pedal Commander! there was definitely a problem at the beginning of my installation. I don’t have great cell service at my house so I was having issues pulling up information on how to disconnect my wiring. I think this day and age. Company’s can provide a picture or diagram of what it takes to do the installs and how it works. I was guessing on how to work the buttons. I was afraid to start it and drive down the street where there was cell service . When I started it. It was set at the dragster level. Definitely not where I think it should come out of the box at. And for these older people like me that doesn’t have a lot of phone experience. I think it should have been set on the lowest or maybe around there. I did go through all the levels. I prefer driving the speed limit. I have a Tacoma V6 4x4 with large tires and steel bumpers. So , I actually was told I could sees additional 2-3 miles per gallon the way I dive on the freeway in cruise control most of the time. I have gotten around 18 on the freeway with my 33x9.5x17s at 60mph I think this is an awesome tool. Can’t wait to go somewhere and see what my mileage will be. Thanks again, ... show more

I’m running a 3 inch lift on 285s on my 2021 TRD sport. My drive to work is about 45 mins and involves a lot of hills on the highway. The shifting on the 3rd gen’s when it comes to hills everybody knows it just sucks and kills gas. When I run the truck in ECO mode I can definitely see a difference. It really helps the truck shift and stay at lower RPMs. So far after 200 miles I’ve gotten 2-3 MPGs better. Installation is probably the easiest thing you’ll do on your truck also. I believe this product definitely is worth the money if you drive a lot on the highway and are looking for better shifting and better MPGs. Worth the money. So far it works good. It doesn’t void warranty like an ECU tune will. It eliminates accelerator lag and increases throttle response. Gas mileage dropped by about 1.5 mpg. It makes driving my 2023 Tacoma more enjoyable.

There are numerous settings for you to choose from. I run mine on the high side and it completely eliminates the hesitation that the factory throttle response has!! It is literally a different driving experience!! I'm an experienced driver who is 49 years old and has had more than 50 different vehicles. Not a noob. This is a great investment and takes all of 10 minutes to install! NOTES: This DOES NOT increase horsepower or torque. Your only realistic expectation should be that it will drastically improve throttle response, particularly from starts or low speed. I have only filled the tank once since installing it and my gas mileage is roughly the same as it was before. If you choose a less aggressive setting than I did, you might see an improvement in fuel economy. That's not why I bought it. I bought it for improved throttle response. ... show more

    • Very Disappointed !!! Read before buying!!!

I read all the positive reviews before spending the money on this. Then finally decided to get it. Directions were easy. Install was a piece of cake. Tried different setting to see which one worked best for my intentions. Better gas #1 and a little better throttle response. I settled on Sport +1. Gas mileage went down 2mpg but throttle response had no lag. After a month I noticed my mpg dropped 2mpg more. I checked the settings and it had moved( Sport+4). Don't know how. Unit was mounted out of the way. I set it back to Sport+1. Gas mpg goes back up. Well after having to repeat this over and over again for the next 5 months. Where the settings change by themselves. I'm done! Removed from my Tacoma. I would return it if it wasn't outside the 30 days window. It's NOT WORTH THE $$ you're going to pay for it. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! ... show more
