  • Stellar Product for 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L
Size: Tacoma 2005-2023
Stellar product! I own a 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L and have always been very disappointed with the amount of performance products available for this truck. In other words, there is hardly anything out there. I was very skeptical about this product as well, and I I decided to call the customer service at Pedal Commander to see what they had to say about this unit on my specific truck. She was able to get me the data I was looking for, so I took the plunge and bought it. They and the retailer who sold me this unit where very responsive in making sure that I received the correct model for my truck (as requested in the item description). When I received the unit a couple of days ago, the instructions where very clear and concise as well. I was having issues in taking off my wiring harness on the pedal itself, so I called Pedal Commanders customer service once again, and the tech was very helpful. He text me pics of the Toyota gas pedal harness so I could see how the clip off and was a huge help. I've now had this unit a couple of days installed, and it makes a huge difference on how responsive the gas pedal is... This does not add any HP, just makes sure that you grab the available HP when and how you like it from the gas pedal. My Tacoma drives like a new machine now and the immediate response on "sport" mode with level 5 tuning is outstanding. It is much quicker than I imagined and I would highly recommend this to anyone especially those 2005-2013 2nd Gen Tacoma owners. What a difference for $299! Well done Pedal Commander! Pro's: - Great customer service and tech support - Highly responsive product and works great on my truck - Can program to use for any situation and very useful Con: - Needs about 6 more inches of cord depending on where you want to place the controller. ... show more

  • Solid product, app needs an update though
Size: Tacoma 2005-2023
I’m running a 3 inch lift on 285s on my 2021 TRD sport. My drive to work is about 45 mins and involves a lot of hills on the highway. The shifting on the 3rd gen’s when it comes to hills everybody knows it just sucks and kills gas. When I run the truck in ECO mode I can definitely see a difference. It really helps the truck shift and stay at lower RPMs. So far after 200 miles I’ve gotten 2-3 MPGs better. Installation is probably the easiest thing you’ll do on your truck also. I believe this product definitely is worth the money if you drive a lot on the highway and are looking for better shifting and better MPGs. Worth the money. There’s no need for the app really bc it just sucks, they do need to update that. ... show more

  • It's good.
Size: Tacoma 2005-2023
I got mine on sport+ 3. I use to have a 64 Chevy truck with 527 hp and geared 4.56. Your not gonna light the tires up in third gear. It doesn't give you more hp. It is lot more responsive. No more pushing the peddle to make it down shift. It holds that gear better. If your on the interstate and wanna shoot past 2 or 3 tractor trailers, wanna hold a good gear. Or shoot through traffic. The last one will cost you milage. If you have to merge with crazy traffic. This is for you. I give it a lot less gas with a lot more response. I barely have to give it gas and it stays in the right gear longer. ... show more

  • Weary of the negatives.. but so far very pleased!
Size: Tacoma 2005-2023
Need to get use to it, makes the throttle response extra touchy, which is exactly what my 2023 sr5 needed! I do see a lot of people saying they have limp mode happen or other error messages and shut downs, got it installed after about 15 minutes, more or less, had no issues after taking it 30 minutes down the road to have dinner and 30 minutes back... Those reviews do make me very weary of the product so I will update in the coming weeks/ months! Install was really easy, had some issues connecting to the pedal but eventually got it to click! ... show more

  • Amazing Difference on my Tacoma !!
Size: Tacoma 2005-2023
I had a 2013 Tacoma with the 4.0l and 5sp automatic. It ran great. I traded it for the 2016 Tacoma with the 3.5l and 6 speed automatic. This was also the first year for the drive-by-wire accelerator pedal meaning the pedal is not linked mechanically to the engine. It is hooked to a sensor that sends a signal to the computer telling to accelerate, coast, etc. The lag time in the Tacoma is Very Bad with a lot of delays. I personally found this delay to be extremely dangerous! I bought the Pedal Commander and installed it as directed. You disconnect the computer wire from the pedal and insert the Pedal Commander. The Pedal Commander intercepts the signal from the pedal and immediately sends it to the computer. The difference is Amazing, NO DELAY!! There are 4 settings, Econo, Street, Sport & Sport+ with each having 4 additional levels within each of the 4 settings. I have used the Street & Sport settings and they really work. I did notice that the mileage did suffer a bit But, it is worth it to have a truck that goes when you want it to go! I have about 2,500 miles with the Pedal Commander and would not consider removing it or turning it off. This is one product that is worth every penny. You can't go wrong with the Pedal Commander! ... show more

  • The hype is REAL.
Size: Tacoma 2005-2023
So easy to install. Control via app or actual unit. And the difference in pedal response is absolutely impossible to go unnoticed!!!! I'm beyond impressed.

  • Check engine codes
Size: Tacoma 2005-2023
Used in my 2015 Tacoma for about 8 months and it was not only a pain to install but also put my engine into limp mode after it threw a check engine light and hijacked my traction control when I was waiting at a red light, pedal went to the floor and wouldn't do more than 15 mph until I was able to pull off to the side of the road. Luckily after fighting for 10 minutes uninstalling it and reconnecting the factory connector I had throttle response again but had to get my brother to clear the check engine codes, now stuck with a $300 paperweight I refuse to reinstall I don't recommend it's not worth the risk. ... show more
