I’m running a 3 inch lift on 285s on my 2021 TRD sport. My drive to work is about 45 mins and involves a lot of hills on the highway. The shifting on the 3rd gen’s when it comes to hills everybody knows it just sucks and kills gas. When I run the truck in ECO mode I can definitely see a difference. It really helps the truck shift and stay at lower RPMs. So far after 200 miles I’ve gotten 2-3 MPGs better. Installation is probably the easiest thing you’ll do on your truck also. I believe this product definitely is worth the money if you drive a lot on the highway and are looking for better shifting and better MPGs. Worth the money. There’s no need for the app really bc it just sucks, they do need to update that. ... show more

If you've got a 3rd gen Tacoma, especially with an automatic, you know the darn thing can't get out of it's own way. Bought a 2023, and was seriously debating on trading it in because it's so slow. Getting on the freeway and changing lanes became frustrating, and maybe even a little dangerous. Installed this (BTW I have zero patience, so pulled the negative battery terminal to install instead of waiting for it to shut off. Works fine, no error codes) and the results are night and day. So far it works good. It doesn’t void warranty like an ECU tune will. It eliminates accelerator lag and increases throttle response. Gas mileage dropped by about 1.5 mpg. It makes driving my 2023 Tacoma more enjoyable.

There are numerous settings for you to choose from. I run mine on the high side and it completely eliminates the hesitation that the factory throttle response has!! It is literally a different driving experience!! I'm an experienced driver who is 49 years old and has had more than 50 different vehicles. Not a noob. This is a great investment and takes all of 10 minutes to install! NOTES: This DOES NOT increase horsepower or torque. Your only realistic expectation should be that it will drastically improve throttle response, particularly from starts or low speed. I have only filled the tank once since installing it and my gas mileage is roughly the same as it was before. If you choose a less aggressive setting than I did, you might see an improvement in fuel economy. That's not why I bought it. I bought it for improved throttle response. ... show more

I applied a little dielectric grease to the plastic parts that slide together. The install took 5 minutes to complete. My 2023 Tacoma now has great acceleration.

The take off on a Tacoma Pre-Runner 4 cyl is not anything to brag about. The throttle really stinks. Long story short, I installed one of these on my wife’s truck. It was a very easy process that took about 15 minutes. It is nothing short of awesome. When you hit the gas, it jumps! The accelerator now works as it should.
