I discovered this particular clock at my work, where we use several. The lighting in our workspace is very dim, so this clock works well because it has a blue backlight which turns on automatically when the room is dark. It works as a nightlight and has three settings: off, low, high. It also displays the room temperature. I bought this for my bedroom so I don't have to keep my phone in the room for an alarm and so I can easily view the time. The numbers are LCD, so they are not bright, which I like. If you need bright, large numbers this may not be the one for you. The alarm works fine. The style is minimal and lightweight. Ive been wanting a traditional alarm clock so that I can pit my phone across the room so I do not get the urge to check it at night or in the morning, plus I am trying to cut down on EMF exposure near my bed for better sleep. This is the perfect alarm clock for my needs and I really like it because: 1. It runs on batteries so less EMF exposure 2. Large display 3. Has temparature setting that is accurate 4. Has a back-lit display so you can see at night. You can either keep it on all the time or turn it off so it doesn't shine at night. I much prefer to have the backlight off so my room is completely dark. Iam able to check the time by hitting the snooze/light button on top. 5. Perfect size and weight. Not bulky or heavy. 6. Very easy to set up! 7. Last but not least, the alarm it self is great because it starts out very slow and low sound, but then speeds up and gets louder as it keeps going until you turn it off. This little clock fits perfectly on the bedside table, is quiet (no ticking sound) and is easy to light up with the push of the bar on top when you want to check the time. We both appreciate that there is no light shining near our bed when we are trying to sleep yet he can still check the time whenever he wishes but simply reaching over and pressing the top bar. The light comes on for about 5 seconds which is plenty of time to read the time.
