  • Pretty Fantastic, Actually!
Color: Black
I am no serious gamer. Certainly not a competitive gamer. I play for fun. Most of my gaming has been on the PC using a keyboard and mouse. However, over the past few months, I've learned to love using a controller for 3rd person games, top-down games, and some old-school retro gaming. I've been on a sort of quest for the 'perfect' controller ... and there are so many of them. I've tried XBox styled, Playstation, and more. I've had them with the d-pad under the thumb stick and above. And I've found that there are times I prefer one over the other. That's what at first made the PDP Victrix Pro BFG for XBox/PC look so appealing ... it was fairly easy to customize. But none of that would matter if the controller didn't ... well ... control well. ;) First of all, the controller came really nicely packaged and came with a very nice hard-shell case. Inside was the controller and all the customizable accessories, nicely organized and easy to get to. So, way to make a nice impression from the get-go. The controller connected almost instantly to the dongle and I was off to the races! The buttons have a nice feel to them ... not squishy and comfortable to press. The triggers on the front are very sensitive! I had to get used to that, but it's great in-game. I'm still deciding which d-pad to go with, but am currently using the one pre-installed. It works a treat. As I said, I'm not some competitive gamer. I play for my own enjoyment. And I thought I'd had a favorite controller already. I've gone through several of them, each one a bit better than the last until one won out as the 'best'. The PDP Victrix Pro BFG blew the 'best' one out of the water! Even though the thumb sticks aren't Hall Effect sticks, they are pretty darned fantastic! And if I want HE sticks, I can get them now via the PDP store. The HE triggers are awesome, too! I really love them. The controller feels great in my hands, has a really nice weight, and the rumble is pretty fantastic, too. The back customizable buttons are really nice, too. They're not my favorite part of the controller just because I'm not quite used to them yet. Currently, I'm finding it too easy to trigger BOTH on a side (on the back) because they are pretty close to one another. But, again, that's me getting used to the button placement. For now, I've disabled two of them, leaving the other two active. That's helped for now. ;) Of course, customizing the controller is simple to do and only takes a moment. The hardest part may be deciding which pieces to try. ;) This is more superficial, but the controller looks awesome, too. I got the black one with purple highlights and love it. I'd thought I knew what a good or even a great controller was. I was wrong. The PDP Victrix has completely won me over. I love this controller! ... show more

  • Adaptable and Reliable
Color: Black
I own Razr Wolverines and the Victrix. Victrix is my go to. I use this for experimenting with pvp and casual gaming alike. Its ready for you to grow with you and get programmed to do things. The grip holds up better than razrs but i wish theyd use textured plastic not rubber. This thing doesnt have the 2 shoulder buttons extra that razrs have but i still use it. Doesnt have razrs clicky buttons but i still use it. Its comfortable as hell. Nice lightweight. Ready to take kontrolfreeks. You can learn Southpaw on it or use it to avoid claw grip. Its completely modular and has separately purchasable hall effect stick modules you could get too. The audio jack is great the triggers/locks are great. Freaking wireless capable. I use it ever dam day. ... show more

  • Surprisingly decent for a while then LITERAL GARBAGE
Color: White
EDIT: This controller has died in less than 6 months. What a waste of money. I really loved my elite controller because of the paddles on the back, at this point I can't stand using a controller that doesn't have buttons back there. The paddles on the elite are pretty finicky. This thing just has buttons. Just regular buttons, it's so much better, it's ridiculous. That said, this controller has many problems. The shoulder switches have no dead zone at the beginning which makes them far too easy to accidentally trigger. You can adjust this in software, but it doesn't seem to properly adjust the rest of the curve after it, if that makes sense. That said, they feel very very smooth and of a higher quality than I honestly anticipated. The analog sticks seem pretty good too, I really have had zero complaints and I've put quite a few hours into this thing now. The face buttons are a little wonky, honestly, but I've got those back paddle buttons. So I barely care. The modularity of the buttons and analog sticks is a gimmick and you can't change them in any meaningful way, but I find the little six button arcade button face to be clever and I at least appreciate that. ... show more

  • A bit too sensitve but a great controller [from a fighting game fan]
Color: Black
this controller is probably the best alternative to the Elite Series 2 so far, at least until MS releases Elite Series 3 with a share button. It has a good grip and it fits nicely on my hand, and is overall a solid controller. the hot-swappable buttons are a great addition and would merit at least an extra .5 star on this review if you are on the market for a new pad to play fighting games on. the problem with that is that the buttons are a bit TOO sensitive: I still have to find a resting position that don't activate one of the triggers. The Sticks also lack a bit of mechanical resistance, so any flick of the thumb sends you spinning. for Fighters and more action heavy games (such as high speed hack n slashes), this means you will probably be battling the analog stick as much as the opponent, at least for a while. The d-pad is the way to go here, but all three options need a bit of time to get used to. My personal choice is the 8-directional one, you have to learn to touch it lightly. Then there is the software, which is a bit clunky, but get the job done. On the first day there was a bug that wouldn't let you re-assing the triggers buttons, but that is fixed now. so at least you can be sure Victrix is still improving it. This one will be my daily driver until MS releases the Elite 3. ... show more

  • Feels great 👍
Color: Black
I can't use a $60 controller anymore after buying this sweet little baby. I don't care for all the different attachments that much but I've messed around with them here and there. Very easy to change the controller setup. The joysticks pull off easily to switch them but not so easy that they just fall off. My kids have knocked it off the couch or chair a few times now and everything still stays together after a 3 foot fall to the hard, wooden floor! (Side note, I died a little inside the 3 or 4 times this happened 😂). Would recommend and would definitely buy one for a close friend. ... show more
