I bought these for use in my scale modeling activities. I was really surprised that they came in a 5-pack, so I was able to share a set with my daughter and wife as well, and still have a couple of spares. The color coding on the bits makes it easy to pick the right one-- and remember later which one you used without having to decode millimeter decimals. And the small "handles" make them easy to use without insertion in a pin vise, which saves time. Like any micro drill bit, however, you need to be gentle. I snapped one of the mid-sized bits when I was a bit too aggressive drilling out a gun barrel. Thus the 4-star rating for durability. But on the plus side-- I have 2 more sets so replacements are at the ready!! This is a great little set that, in my experience, works well and didn't break the bank. This really filled a whole in extra fine drill bits I have been looking for. Because these these drills are so fine, they tend to be easy to break and thus instead of one set you receive five, these are really a value for the money!

    • Tiny Drill Bits for Tiny Holes
First: these won't fit in your Dremel tool's standard cullet. I recommend buying a variety pack of brass cullets from Amazon; one of them will fit. You need a cullet with a slightly larger opening in order to accommodate these bits. That said, these bits are lovely for drilling small holes. I use them to drill holes in amber for jewelry. The bits are tough enough to penetrate the sacrifice wood I to which I adhere the amber. If you're a carpenter, you won't have any trouble drilling through maple or oak with these bits. The bits are not strong enough to drill through metal, even soft metals like silver. The plastic ring around each bit acts as a stop. I've had several bits break on me, but every time, it's been my fault for not being at exactly 90 degrees to my surface. With the bit being so thin, care and precision when drilling is needed. These bits make a small, neat hole in the surface. I'm very happy with them and the result they produce, especially on a difficult frangible material such as amber. ... show more

    • Decent bits, horrible case
The bits works fine (of course they're very fragile but that's to be expected with the size). The case on the other hand is very difficult to open and in one case twisted, snapped several bits and sent them into my finger.

    • Drill Bits didn't drill into Stone
I tried using the bit (wet) on an 1/8th of an inch thick stone. After about 15 minutes the first bit broke. I tried a 2nd bit and drilled it for another 20 minutes of drilling the hole was less than 1 MM deep. I calculated the time needed to drill a hole through the full rock. It would take in excess of 8 hours to do the job with these bits. May work for other projects, but not mine. I was drilling through Solid rock to add as jewelry for my son. will but diamond tips ... show more
