I have used Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine for over 25 years. Its never let me down nor has it damaged my hair. I do use a quality shampoo when I shampoo to remove any buildup between uses. I’ve used a cheaper product for years and tried this after watching a video. It is so good my hair still is in place the next day!! Great stuff and a definite rebuy!! Wish I had seen the video years ago!

An animal friendly company

I am not a frequent user of hair spray. Simply wanted something reasonably priced and small for when I need it. Paul Mitchell is a friend to animals, is the reason I made the purchase. Cannot speak of the hold as I have yet to use it but for me a short haired person this will be fine.

I've been using Free & Clear Firm Hold Styling and Finishing Hair Spray for over 10 years because it's free of dyes, "for Sensitive Skin" etc. Problem is, sometimes it's hard to find so I fell behind in keeping stock on hand and ran out, then it was gonna take six weeks for a single bottle to arrive
and a few more weeks for two more bottles. In desperation, I just ordered this Paul Mitchell because I know it's a brand with a very good reputatino and they've been around forever. So it works fine, smells a little like apples or something and holds my hair in place pretty well but the atomization of the spray isn't as fine a mist as the stuff I'm used to. So, my "Free and Clear" hair spray arrived today but it's no longer known as "Free and Clear," it's called "Vanicream Hair Spray." I included the specific name of the product I'm reviewing because too often I notice that reviews are included for items that are the same brand but not the same product from the brand.

I love this product. I use a straightener and a barrel curling iron but my hair does not get damaged using this product. I have thick hair just past shoulder length so I divide my hair in sections, per instructions, and spray each section thoroughly. It also makes my hair shiny which I love.
