Was getting very frustrated with the two 16gb sticks I bought for about two weeks, they were locked at 2400mhz and nothing was working. I was trying adjusting timings, xmp profiles, updating bios until someone told me to switch from slots A1 B1 to A2 B2 and it immediately worked. Disclaimer: I am not an experience RAM overclocker. System: Mobo: Asus PRIME X570-PRO with bios version 4408 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X RAM: Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 16GB (2 x 8GB) 4000MHz-PVS416G400C9K I had a CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz with timings 16-18-18-18-36-1T previously; I wanted more performance just because. When I installed the patriot RAM; the motherboard recognized it instantly, which was a relief. Due to the higher RAM frequency on the patriot; I increased the FCLK frequency on the CPU from 1800MHz to 2000 MHz to keep things in a 1:1 ratio fortunately, the CPU gave no problems. Then after some tinkering, I tighten the timing on the Viper RAM to 16-16-16-16-34-1T(@4000MHz) with an increased voltage of 1.4v. Overall I am satisfied with the performance and HOW EASY the whole experience was; the CORSAIR Ram in my opinion are overpriced, I am switching brands going forward. ... show more
