The media could not be loaded. Review update. Company sent out new items. They work well. Great customer service. So I had to reach out to the company to get help setting up the second collar they I purchased. Dog 1 and Dog 2 are controlling both collars at the same time. It's dumb. They sent me instructions which I've been trying since last week but still it doesn't work properly. I'm finally giving up. The collars work but the remote seems to be controlling both at the same time. I had to cut the collar in length since they were too long for my dogs which is something that should also be taken into consideration. I don't think I can send them back because of that. I purchased the second collar separately after I emailed the company. It's a bummer and because of that I give 3 stars. The remote needs to work as intended. I have to turn off the collar for one of my dogs when I want to use it on the other. It defeats the purpose. I would have just purchased a whole different collar for my smaller dog with a remote control had I known this. ... show more

I have a very stubborn English Bulldog who was not taking no for an answer. He would steal any blanket or pillow and completely destroy it. He was obsessed. I decided to try this collar. I chose it based on size since his neck is quite large. Instructions for the collar are easy to follow. I did shock myself with it to feel the intensity and on setting 3 it was pretty spicy. I placed the collar on my dog and waited for him to start his behavior. The tone definitely got his attention. He backed up a bit but did continue to try to take the blanket. I used the vibration only next and the command drop it and he immediately dropped the blanket and walked away. He has sat next to me since and has not attempted to take the blanket again. I’d call that a success. No shock needed at all. I would definitely recommend this as a training tool for unwanted behaviors. ... show more

Company stands on their product too! Our charger was lost a week in (moving) and the company sent us a new on no questions asked. We use 2 for our Doberman and our Rottie. We never need the shock anymore, the tone does all the work and very rarely the vibrate. The shock needs to be on 3 or 4 of 16. Never more. It's VERY strong. This set has great range, has been submerged, and has lasted 2 years so far. Its battery lasts forever-we charge maybe once every 3-4 weeks. We'll never use another brand as long as these are made as they are! ... show more

This product deserves no stars. I have owned 4 of these and each time a different part stops working. The remote twice and the collar twice. Patpet has been no help. Would not recommend anyone buy a patpet product

I adopted an 18 month old Cur named Kali, just one week ago. She's a very well-behaved dog, considering she's never lived in a house before, and she is a FAST learner. By day 2 she understood not to poop or pee in the house, and to stay away from my other dog's (Chihuahua) food bowl. She doesn't bark and doesn't seem to have an aggressive bone in her body. WITH ALL THAT SAID... Whenever she was outside, she would NOT listen to a single command. Every noise, every smell, any bit of movement was a huge distraction for her. On walks, she would either be pulling very hard on her leash, or stopping and refusing to budge, due to wanting to sniff something. Once, she got away from me as I was trying to get her inside the house, and the only reason I was able to catch her was because she stopped to sniff something. This for me, was too risky, as we live surrounded by roads. I also currently do not have a fenced in yard, as a backup for when she gets away like that. Since buying this collar only two days ago, Kali is like a new dog. She has learned: Come Wait Follow Sit Go play Basically, the training method that seemed to work best with Kali, using this collar, is: give a command and observe response. If she responded appropriately, I would praise/give treat and repeat. If no response, I would activate the collars tone. Sometimes she would respond to this appropriately, however if she didn't, then I would use the vibration function. For her, this was a more intense feeling and she would typically respond appropriately, however, if not, then I would administer a mild shock. Only two days in, and I am already no longer using vibrate or shock, because she has learned the commands. If for some reason she's too distracted, the tone has been enough to grab her attention. The things to keep in mind are, this collar is just a communication device for your dog. It is a language they have to learn, so don't assume toning, vibrating, or shocking your dog will make them understand anything. You still need to use other training methods and tools, and give a lot of praise when they do what you want. Assigning commands to your dog's displayed behaviors, and giving praise is much more effective and important than punishing and yelling. I hope this review is helpful to anyone having issues getting their dog to listen. ... show more

    • Nice design but no longevity

Worked great out of the box and seems well made. First the sound stopped working next followed by the shock stopping. The vibrating buzzer still works but our puppy setter doesn't mind the vibration even on 16 setting. The shock was helping while it worked but after 2 months with shock now dead we have an out of control pup. Will try another brand now. Update: I read a review where a dog was shocked by this collar when the owner did not press the shock button. I thought well that's a one time fluke so I have been turning the control off when dog is unattended. Well it just happened and the controller was off. Our poor pup started crying and jumping all around I ran to the controller and it was lit up on the table so I quickly removed the collar and thru the device away. This is a very dangerous unit with a serious design flaw and should be removed from the market place. ... show more
