  • EXCELLENT CAMCORDER

EXCELLENT CAMCORDER FOR THE CHURCH LIVE WORSHIP STREAMING

  • Excellent Camcorder!
Style: Full HD
For the price point this V800 IS AN EXCELLENT camcorder. From auto, to hdr to full manual control this thing really shines. I bought this to capture a second angle along with my Canon Mirror-less. To be able to set it up at a distance, dial in my setting and let it record an entire event without having to check it, or man it. And it's fantastic. Image quality is excellent, large censor, great HDR, made well. Will be using this for a long time. ... show more

  • Very Good fgor the Money
Style: Full HD
To start, this would have gotten 4 stars except for one exception: picture quality. The picture quality is very good, but it's not exceptionally sharp, like in many of the videos I watch on YouTube. If you produce a video and then zoom up close on it, the strikingly sharp detail is not there. Possibly a 4k version would solve that. I was thinking that it had that ultra-fine quality, but now that I've had the camera and done more research on it, I realize that it was not designed that way. So, I'm not really faulting the camera. I had a Besteker (cheap camera) before this one, which had several issues with it. Extremely poor operating manual, charging adapter which broke, etc. The only really good thing about the Bestgeker is that it came with a pouch. Unfortunately, the Panasonic does not have that. This Panasonic doesn't have the Besteker issues, though. The quality of build is exceptional, and it feels just right in your hand. I wanted a storage pouch or case, but Panasonic does not have one for the camera on its website. So I found a case on Amazon that fits perfectly. I also did not like the way the Panasonic recharges. You have to plug a cord into the camera and then into the outlet. A charging adapter would have been nice, so I found an after market one that works well. Also, it comes with just one battery, no backup, so, again, I bought an after market extra which also works well. You'll need an SD card is you're going to shoot videos of much length., and you should read the manual before you purchase one. It will take up to 128GB, I bought a 64GB Pro-Grade Digital, which set me back $84 on Amazon. But it's one of the best available. I would also mark the Panasonic down for trying to figure out how to play back a video to check it out. It has two manuals available for it. A standard manual ships with it, and an advanced manual is available for download on the Panasonic website. But trying to figure out how to play the video back is difficult. The manual covers this model and also the more expensive 4k version of the camera. So trying to distinguish features of one from the other is not always easy. I purchased this a month ago and just now figured out how to do that, It was in the manual, but I had to find a video on YouTube that showed me, and even that was hard to find. I just stumbled upon it watching a video that didn't say it showed you how to do that. You can find some excellent reviews on it on YouTube, so go there and watch before you buy. With all of those negatives out of the way, I should say I really love my V800, although I wish I had gotten the 4k upgrade model for the picture quality (HC-WXF1 and its various versions). Of course, when you shoot the 4k videos, your video size is going to be significantly greater. This camera is really built well, and has a lot of manual adjustments you can make for picture quality if you want to take the time for that. I produce a video a week and don't have time to keep changing the settings for each different situation, so I just put it on automatic and it does a great job. I mount it on a tripod and shoot all of my videos myself. I use Camtasia to do my video editing to produce a professionally looking result. You can see the result on my channel. Life Lessons Dave Shreve. (I have the Adobe Master Collection Premiere Pro, but it is like driving a stick shift compared to Camtasia). I would definitely buy this camcorder again if I would be satisfied with the regular Hidef picture quality. I would opt for the pricier 4k model, however, if I were buying again. But for most users, this camera is going to be a very good purchase. ... show more

Panasonic needs to review this firmware - menu is very very slow to respond, wifi stopped working after a few days. I could see my camera, but just could not connect, or it would drop in the middle of recording. AP, and Router based. and the Panasonic app is horrible.
