  • Great tool for cutting cement board.
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
This is a great tool for cutting cement board for keeping down the dust. There is almost zero dust that is created with this cutter. It's easy to use on a cordless drill but you really need to use both hands to keep it going straight. That's why I only gave it 4 stars on accuracy. When I take one hand off the drill to try and hold the material, it is harder to keep it going straight. You have to hold your drill to the side if it has a large battery that gets in the way. It's pretty fast at cutting and a lot cleaner for clean-up as it just leaves curled up material behind. ... show more

  • Well worth the purchase price!
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
I bought this tool to cut Hardie Plank because I didn't want to deal with the nasty, dangerous dust you get with a saw, and I'm glad I did. A saw might give a perfectly clean cut, but the need to use a vacuum, SERIOUS dust mask, and tight goggles would have negated that advantage. (note: Some will say that you don't need to go all space-suit when using a saw, but you'll be sorry if you don't) This shear/nibbler takes a little practice, but after a couple of cuts, you're getting very nice results. It's not difficult to produce cuts to within 1/8th inch, and often to within 1/16th inch accuracy. You can also do respectable curve cuts if needed, and the amount of dust produced is minimal. The slightly furry edge of the cuts can be smoothed, if needed, with a small sure-form rasp. Remember to prime all cuts before installation - Cement Fiber absorbs water, and caulking, where used, will adhere much better to primed material. The Pac Tool shear won't be as durable as a $400-$500 dedicated nibbler, but it's held up very well during my one-off siding project, still cutting like new after about 100 planks, including several long rip cuts. If you're only doing one small-to-medium sized siding project, rather than an entire LARGE house, this tool should do the job to your satisfaction. I'm glad I bought it. ... show more

  • Fantastic and easy to use.
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
Well worth the money. This made cutting concrete fiber boards so easy. I had a scoring tool before that I was using to cut fiber cement, but I would wear myself out and just within an hour or two. Using this I can cut fiber cement board all day long. And you can make custom cuts with it . Highly recommend this tool. ... show more

  • Works well, no dust, much better than using a grinder with a cutting wheel
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
Used this for 6 mm and 9 mm Fiber Cement Boards. Great to have no dust from cutting. Sometimes it's hard to see where you are cutting as the material is discarded towards the top. The shear "blades" don't seem to stay sharp for very long and probably have to be replaced quite frequently. The cuts are usually clean, but the quality of the cuts decrease as the blades get duller. ... show more

  • Great experience with this tool!
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
These sheers really saved me a ton of time and functioned very well. The fact that it cuts the material without producing a lot of dust is a real plus. It takes a little practice to get the cutting technique right but once comfortable it was very easy to use. Definitely worth the $.

  • Hardie cement siding
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
This tool is awesome in cutting Hardie cement siding. No dust from cement board. You have to hold onto the handle as the head of the cutter would flip around on you. But was able to do cuts like a jig saw.

  • awesome
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
I bought this to cut siding, works okay for that but really impressed me with cutting circles and 3x5 sheets of 1/4" for tile. I usually need to take my cuts outside with a grinder, but with Pac-tool everything was cut inside without the dust!

  • Big disappointment
Style: Universal Shear Head / Attaches to any d... Pattern Name: Cutting Tool
It just crumbled my backerboard when starting the cut did not cut cleanly after it got going. Did not make cuts like the video. It also was slow. I took my 6 1/2" circular cordless saw out with a general purpose blade and ripped that board in seconds with a nice clean cut.. My hardy board has been in the garage for awhile, waiting for something to cut it with. Maybe that has something to do with why it would not work for me. I never have fresh materials. So even if that is the case, for me it would not work. Doesn't look like it would hold up long either. Blade is wobbly. ... show more
